A Baked Omelette Souffle and a Fairy Tale
66Ouch!
Good morning beloved breakfastpoppers. Today is Fairy Tale Friday, June 10th, in the year of our kingdom 2011. By now we are all familiar with the healthcare plan that King Teleprompter has foisted upon us. Even if the details are still a bit sketchy we know that its implementation is going to hurt like the devil. Thanks to the skewed reasoning of Princess Pouty Pelosi who believed that passing the bill was the only way to know what was in it, we are stuck with healthcare reform that is designed to make us sick. Let's prepare our morning repast and meet outside the castle. Just because King Teleprompter shuns transprency doesn't mean that we have to. Perhaps if he hears our discussion he will learn a thing or two. Of course, that is highly unlikely, but after all, this is a fairy tale.
This morning we will be preparing a Baked Omelette Souffle. For 2 servings you will need 4 eggs, 3 tablespoons hot water, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon pepper, 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch and 1 tablespoon cooking oil. Rub the inside of a quart sized baking dish with oil. Place in hearth and preheat to 375 degrees. Separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites until stiff and the yolks until creamy. Add the cornstarch, water, and salt and pepper. Fold in the egg whites and transfer to the heated baking dish. Bake 12 to 15 minutes. Wrap up your souffle and carry it carefully to the castle courtyard. I will meet you there with plenty of Bloody Marys to go around.
Welcome my friends. Let me get right to the point. King Teleprompter's healthcare plan threatens each and every one of us. The King and his Court have been handing out waivers to all their buddies, but nary a one to us or the people we work for. The ugly truth is that between 30 and 50 percent of employers who currently provide healthcare to their employees are extremely likely to drop their coverage. That will leave many of us in the grips of the King's plan. Remember when the King promised us that if we liked our insurance we were going to be able to keep it? Well, surprise , surprise he wasn't telling us the truth. Paying the fines that the plan imposes on employers who fail to offer coverage will be way more cost effective that continuing to offer coverage. Where does that leave many of us? Out in the cold, of course. The King's plan offers subsidies to low and middle income workers who don't have employer coverage while fining employers who can't afford to offer coverage. Good-bye healthcare plans that we liked. Hello healthcare plans that we abhor.
If a company must drop coverage for their employees in order to remain profitable, employees will be forced into state exchanges in order to receive coverage. Hello government controlled healthcare. Good-bye freedom of choice and quality. Our little kingdom is built upon the hard work of the small business owner. Complying with all of the new regulations placed upon them by this King and his Court will impede progress and discourage new businesses from starting up. All businesses with more than 50 employees will have to provide coverage or pay penalties. If their profits don't exceed these costs then it's good-bye business, unless of course these businesses have friends in high places.
We have very rocky times ahead my dear friends and we have King Teleprompter to thank for our angst. Are you listening King Teleprompter? Is anybody home?...POP...
Keep a knocking
But you can't come in
Come back tomorrow night
And try it again......
I can't hear you!
The End.

Pop, It is good to have you back. This hub tells it like it is and I am so hopeful the Atlanta court will strike down Obama's health care plan but ultimately the case will end up in the Supreme Court. Our best hope is the court's finding Obama care illegal as states rights should precede federal government. The federal government is not supposed to force people to make any kind of purchases. At least that is my understanding. I agree with Tom that the real problem is Obama trying to run this country into the ground!!
I think almost everyone in Pelosi's distict got a waiver. What must be done is that we must take over the Senate in 2012, hold the house and elect someone as president who will get Obummacare repealed as the first priority. Otherwise, we are doomed. I think the inn is open so I am heading there. INNKEEPER.........
Pop, here again I haven't red crap on it. I kinda bullet proof as insurance goes, in the beginning my premiums were high, now they are all paid up for ever. Not to worry, I'm voting anti-Dem at every corner, 50
My only hope BPop is the fact that an appeals court has in fact found it unconstitutional this week. This gives me hope that this disaster of a healthcare plan might get scrapped.
BPOP - Dang it if I don't get to eat two breakfasts this morning. That's okay because this political reporting beat is getting to be a long haul trying to keep up with all the nonsense up on Upchuck Hill.
Just read recently where about 30% of businesses will drop their employee health care insurance due to Obamacare. Ya heard that Wasserman Schultz goes into a pout too whenever we call it that. Touch sh*t Debbie Downer!
On the positive side, the justices sitting on the Court of Appeals in Atlanta seem inclined to rule it unconstitutional. Two of them stated that in their search of the law (precedent), and reading of the US Constitution, they can't find anywhere in there that authorizes, or has authorized, the federal government to require anyone to purchase anything. They might have a point and that is the point.

POP: I see that you're back in the groove -
I thought that Obamacare (I hate that name) was going to be repealed once the mid term elections were over. It didn't happen, maybe because we didn't take the Senate, but it still didn't happen. Now our only hope will be for the court system. Once the Judges in Altanta deem it unconstitutional, it will go to the Supreme Court - I read that will come down to Justice Kennedy's decidion, because it will be 4 for and 4 against. So, we'll have one person making the decision!
Anyway, glad you're back. I'm off to the Inn now, someone, please save me a seat
what is interesting to note here is that of late, quite a number of people i know have been singing the praises of this plan, from the uninsured to the wealthy and insulated (at least for now). i assume it is because they didn't bother getting into the weeds of the bill and simply rely on the sexy soundbites that vilify anyone who dares to ask a few questions, let alone expresses concerns..........
I hope all those who helped elect this trainwreck are getting a good dose of the socialism/communism he has brought upon us. If the Congress were subject to this plan I feel quite certain that we could get something changed rather quickly...they are just waiting for the herd to settle down before they drive us to the slaughter. WB
I read that 26 states were in court Wednesday trying to keep Obamacare from taking hold in their states. So many "lower" courts are ruling this crap unconstitutional or detrimental to citizens and businesses. Why people at the federal level don't see this is beyond me. And how any citizen can be excited about the prospect of socialized medicine (or socialized anything for that matter) is gut wrenching. We live amongst idiots and people who feed off taking advantage of others. Obama and his crew needs to be kicked out FAST.
POP - Welcome back, hope you had a good vacation. The legislative atrocity they call Obamacare, will be determined to be unconstitutional, right about election time next year. Just continues to re-enforce my philosophy that we need to elect leaders to lead. I'm picking up extra beer and Pizza for the Inn and I hoist my glass to your great return!
We have no choice but to put our trust in the U.S. Supreme Court to rule this monstrosity unconstitutional. Frankly, I am more than a bit worried as to how they WILL finally rule. I shudder to think what the future holds if the court finds it IS constitutional to allow the government to FORCE us to buy a product....SCARY!!
I hope your vacation was a good one. As for Obamacare - not much is written about doctors. They'll be paid less and their expenses will go up because of the increased government paperwork. And, of course, they're still in jeopardy of any sort of lawsuit a patient wishes to think up. So who will we have as doctors? Many I know do not accept any 'government' patients, and I'm told many more are planning to accept cash only. Which means we'll have wealthy people paying their own doctor bills and everyone else waiting weeks and months for an appointment.
Why is anyone surprised?
Obama and the left said from the very beginning that single-payer, government-run, socialized medicine was their true goal. OF COURSE it's working out that way, because that was the intent all along!
That's the reason for rules and regulations that force employers to drop coverage and force insurers to raise rates beyond the reach of most Americans!
Then, an ever sympathetic Uncle Sugar can step in and offer a ‘pubic option’ that beats all other rates (because taxpayers are subsidizing it!), forcing private insurers into bankruptcy.
Here it is in their own words, including the great deceiver himself:
Hip, Hip, Hooray you're BACK! I heard that the Companies that were allowed to opt out was not LEGAL to allow. It's like the President is making up his own RULES as he goes along. Never voted upon. Maybe he'll do away with Elections in 2012 and just Reappoint himself! GOD FOR BID!
Well that just bites! I love my health insurance - and I highly doubt I'd be better off under Obamacare!
Hi Pop! Great one as usual. I am against this health care plan and hope that if it goes to the high court, the Supremes will sing the right tune. I thought this country was founded on the principles of less government and less government intrusion into our lives. I am late today but I'll have my Bloody Mary's at the Inn.
breakfastpop, those who still have doubts that Obamacare is a failure - if all the waivers aren't proof enough - only have to watch Debbie Wasserman-Shultz's youtube video. She considers it as a "disparaging reference to the president" to refer to the healthcare reform as Obamacare. Why on earth would she think that?!? Saw the video on Frog Prince's hub:
Dear POP: I have confidence that when it gets to the Supreme Court it will go down in flames.
Good morning breakfastpop. I wrote my fingers to the bone when they were in the stages of preparation on this bill and so many people were looking for an easy way to have healthcare. Blinded by the fact that they would be under the "dictatorship" of the gvt should this bill come to pass. Had people opened their eyes instead of being led by a wolf in sheeps clothing, I do not think this bill would have gone through, and actually it was bought into existence by repayment of favors.
Hard times is a light comment for what we are about to experience. We should not look to man to solve our problems, but to God....
Obama's plan is disastrous at best. As I have always said, there are good points in it, like not denying health care for pre-existing conditions, but overall, the bill was simply too comprehensive to be worth anything to anyone other than special interests—which are many by the way. The only caveat I introduce into this discussion pertains to our own choices right now for contenders for the 2012 election on the republican side. My question is, where are the conservatives? Mitt Romney? No. Ron Paul? God, no. Newt Gingrich? No. Paul Ryan? Maybe. Not really. He's not running anyway, according to him thus far. Herman Cain? Great talking points, probably no substance. Sarah Palin? Most conservative of all of the lot, but probably not viable as a candidate.
Mitt's the father of socialized medicine, isn't he? He beat Obama to the punch and still won't admit it was a mistake, though he says he's for repealing Obamacare. Yeah, right. Just like he's for admitting his OWN healthcare plan is an abysmal failure as well. Cap and trade? Romney was a proponent, as were many others in the lineup. He's against it now?
It's going to be interesting to see how things go going forward. We need to very vigilant and listen to everything and hang on every word.
Otherwise going forward, Obamacare may just wind up being the least of our problems.
Circus is putting it lightly Pop. What of the recent debacle in Gingrich's camp? They all resigned his campaign? lol. What is actually on my radar this election cycle is a challenger on the democrat side. A strong blue dog democrat (are there even any of those left???) might be a stronger candidate than any repubican we currently have—because again, where are the conservatives?
Pop, as the GOP stands presently, we are bound to see obama return in 2012, the GOP doesn't hold any cards at this point. I have a stinking feeling in my pig flapping heart, that at the end of the next 11 months, we'll see Trump join in with Palin on an independent platform or tea party team, that will siphon off GOP votes that will result in a split and loss to obama. I need a stiff Bloody Mary as I prepare for watching this mess bring America to it's knees. Many will not even bother to vote, saying "what's the point", the majority will ultimately vote against obama, 30% GOP, 30% Independent and 40% obama, there is a double edged sword that fails to cut out the cancer allowing it to metastasize and kill off our nation in a resounding death rattle, 50
Maybe Pakistan will rope their navy seals into the white house and...... no that would be unfair? 50

Pop,
The uncertainty of the tax situation and overregulation in areas such as health care are the precise reasons for a jobless recovery or as the King calls it a bump in the road. The real problem is the bump on a log King trying to run this country into the ground!!!!!!!!
