A Banana Crush and a Lesson in Madness

Go Home!

Good morning breakfastpoppers. Today is Wednesday, October 12, 2011. The Occupy Wall Street protesters are still hanging around littering the streets of New York City and other cities around the country. I think it appropriate that we have at least one more class discussion about this movement and today is the day.

Let's prepare a Banana Crush for breakfast and once it is done, let's head for class. I think you should prepare 3 servings to take to class, so gather together 2 bananas, 1 cup orange juice, 3/4 cup plain organic yogurt, 1 tablespoon honey, 1/3 cup raw almonds and 1 dash of nutmeg. In a blender, grind almonds into a fine powder. Add remaining ingredients and blend. Fill up your thermos and I'll see you in class in a few minutes. I think we are having a substitute teacher this morning.

Good morning class. As you can see your teacher is out this morning. As a matter of fact she has joined the Wall Street Protesters so I am here instead. I am going to offer you a different perspective on these protests so hold on, because it could be a rocky ride if you admire this group.

The Wall Street Protests are not, as Nancy Pelosi believes, the greatest expression of democracy we have seen in a long time. They are, in fact, a huge embarrassment and a testament to the poor level of education we have in this country. Clearly, many of these people protesting fell asleep during their economics class and most certainly dozed during history. Obviously, the fact that they are being exploited by radical groups and our radical president is either completely unimportant to them or they are unaware that it is happening.

I think we can safely say the same thing about the fools who are applauding their appalling behavior, a list that is growing longer with each passing day. The mob on Wall Street terrorized many of the businesses in lower Manhattan. They used every bathroom they could find, stole all their toilet paper and ripped sinks off the walls. Their hatred of Wall Street was taken out on small business but that fact escaped them. Most of them were too high on weed to know what they were doing. The only thing I am sure of is that they were having a good time at taxpayer's expense. Of course, why should that mean anything to them, since it is highly unlikely that they pay taxes. No, this group are the segment of society we call the "takers". They are the "gimmee" generation. They want, they need, they are entitled and they are not ashamed or apologetic.

These are the people our president respects. These are the people this administration has been trying to awaken and they have succeeded. All that talk about "fat cats" and millionaires and billionaires" has finally taken root and resonated with the segment of the population that this administration wants to add to their base. This is the crisis that Obama, the activist, has been waiting for and this is our worst nightmare.

Imagine this, some of these protesters actually quit their jobs to participate in this mess. The fact that the media hasn't fully exposed this movement for what it really is, is shameful. When the Rev. Al Sharpton can get radio time to tell the public that the Tea Party carried guns as opposed to these protesters, it tells me that we are approaching meltdown.

If these misguided fools had any true understanding of our problems they would be marching on Washington because the buck stops there. This do-nothing president has planted and fertilized the seeds of the downfall of our nation and few are looking his way. This president was proud to announce that he was unaware of the Tea Party quietly gathering in Washington but totally aware of the Wall Street Protests. He supports their movement and with the help of his union buddies I Imagine he hopes the protests continue right up until the election in 2012. He has hijacked our nation and he is now enlisting his army.

For those of us who love our country and want to see it regain it's footing, this is a very ugly time in our history. I can only hope that common sense prevails and that this band of misinformed fools runs out of weed and food and goes home. I feel the same way about the president. Class dismissed...POP...

This is where Obumma and his puppeteers were headed from the beginning. While they hadno "plans" on the economy and jobs to send to congress, this was their plan. These fools have not figured out that communism doesn't work (and neither do they). This is the crisis Obumma created and does not want to waste. And a piece of garbage like Pelosi thinks this is the greatest demonstration of democracy. She thinks the Tea Party was unpatriotic and treasoness. How this woman got to be where she is is unbelievable. The fact that the unions are backing these morons who are demonstrating is bad enough, but Nancy thinks this is great. So, Nancy, won't you tell us why in all of your business holdings you do not have any union employees? You are a lying piece of feces. As are all of the morons who are demonstrating. Maybe we can get a sudden drop in temporature and a blizzard to "chill" these morons. Oh, and the big bad corporations are criminals. Yeah, like the big bad corporations that make the I phones and I pads and other cell phones you phony morons are using. This is one stupid group. Enough! I am off to the bar. BARTENDER..............

Pop,

Let'a see, the protests were organized by Van Jones, supported by SEIU, MoveOn.org,other unions. Now verbally supported by every whacko lefty politician. Wonders never cease!!!!

Pino Krisio 7 months ago

POP: First, welcome back! I missed you.

Now to the issue at hand. The Wall Street Protestors probably don't realize that all the taxes the millionaires pay supports them and their entitlements. They should be grateful that their taxes are supporting them, but they are not. I agree that Obama and his union cronies are charging this protest; however, I feel that in the end, prople will be so upset that they will not vote to re-elect him. If I was the mayor of NYC, I'd send the clean up bill directly to Obama. I'd be screaming mad if I was living in NYC.

Anyway, again I'm glad you're back. Let's go to the bar early and catch up. I'm on my way, someone save me a seat...

In a way, I regarded these protests as a good thing, not because of the message they are trying to convey, but because of the life lessons the protestors themselves might learn from being involved in this effort. I can quite easily imagine these folks getting together afterwards and comparing notes on what they accomplished, and I wonder what sort of lessons they might learn.

Will they regard their own actions is ineffective? Will they say to themselves “Why did we put so much effort into a situation that most of America is already aware of”? Will they stop and realize how much easier (and ineffective) it is to take a few moments to moan and complain about a bad situation, or, will they stop and consider that perhaps they could have put that effort into actually helping to develop a constructive solution? Will they ponder how easily they were led to their actions? Will they ask “who benefited and how?” Clearly, at the end of the day, not much is accomplished, other than we all stopped and listened for a few minutes and said “Gee, the rest of us already know about this, why yell now?”

And demands? Demands do not solve problems. If you truly want to solve a problem, you go out and find a positive way to work towards solving that problem. Anybody can moan, groan, and complain. It is one of the easiest things in life to do. To actually sit down and talk to people, to try to develop real solutions, that takes effort, and helps to give some real meaning to the efforts a person can undertake. Will the protestors come to realize this lesson after they are done? If so, then despite what we regard as an apparent ineffectiveness, I would say they have learned one of life’s more valuable lessons, that it is much more rewarding to actually contribute to a solution than it is to gripe about a problem.

Good morning FitnezzJim,

You are a very wise and upbeat guy. I, however, have a feeling that these protesters won't have learned a thing. They are trying to tear down the capitalist system and replace it with a nanny state. The lesson they need to learn exists outside this country in failed nations. See you at the inn.

Morning Pop, and welcome back...Your insightful commentary is right on...The spineless Bloomberg is doing nothing to prevent the vandalism of small businesses in the Wall Street area...The Park is littered with garbage and human feces...the smell of this crowd is nauseating...Bring on the water cannons and wash down the streets, the park, and the " occupiers "...

I'm in agreement with Fitnezzjim's comments above and would only add that, unlike the " Occupiers ", the Tea Party actually contributed to the solution by getting out the vote, changing congress, and holding their feet to the fire...They did all that without crapping on one police car, without sleeping in filth, without destroying private property, and without speaking in tongues...They spoke with a very clear message: Fiscal responsibility...

See you at the tavern, POP...I kept a bowl of faux elk jerky just for you...Larry

'Morning, Pop. I agree; this bunch won't learn a thing--maybe a rare individual among 'em might, karma karma karma, but not many.

Gotta "love" the guys holding the signs for "JOBS!" who did literally quit their jobs to go protest. Or the one fellow who's come out and admitted he's being paid $22 an hour (plus overtime) to hold up his sign.

That last one is from The Blaze (Glenn Beck).

Voted Up and Disgusting (You know what I mean. Nothing beautiful about these protests. Arab Spring, then Obamafied fall. Some are even protesting in front of rich folks's homes--but only REPUBLICAN rick folks. Rich Democrats are immune. The got their Fool Shots in time.)

These are the only people willing to follow Obama's lead. They are the same sheep he worked with as a community organizer. There are certain groups of Americans (I use the term freely), who must have a "cause" to justify their daily existence. This was true in the Vietnam Era and created most of the folks Obama now considers his "close friends". It becomes obvious why these people have no fear of socialism or communism...hell, they don't even understand demcracy or capitalism. You can bet that Obama's minnions will work this crowd all across the country right up to the election with the violence aspect steadily increasing. I suspect they would like to create a low turn out at the polls in many major population zones...folks got to be brave here and vote. WB

Hmmm, spreading of feces is a hallmark of one sort of institutionalized individual - and the long-time angry elephant at our zoo. Not very good.

I think the biggest mistake was talk of marching on rich people's mansions, which could get these marchers shot by security. If people do not like a business and its owners, they more effectively should not buy its products and services. If the rich are doing something illegal, then effectively file a class action suit or notify the authorites. Marching onto their property is wrong-headed and will get marchers killed imo.

And what is their problem with the Smithsonian??

There will be violent looting and murder in the streets across the whole of America and the major boxed in populations would need to fight to leave the city much less stay. I'll see you at the bar and I'll be packing heat, the rule of the day is "be kind, be courteous, but have a plan to kill every mutha F@@ker in the room, 50

This is the direct consequence of Obama's class warfare rhetoric. There's a mix of left wing loons in this protest, but the organizers and financial backers, George Soros and MoveOn.org, are true and focused Marxists.

When the Democrats and Obama 'sympathize' with these people, they are sympathizing with far-left Marxists. But of course, they already know that, so what does that tell us about today's Democrats and the current president?

BTW, a new Rasmussen poll says most Americans have an unfavorable view of the protestors, so we may see the Democrats deserting that ship in a hurry!:

I believe their walk uptown yesterday was instigated by Soros, judging by their targets. And then there's Bloomberg saying they're welcome to stay as long as they're not breaking any laws. They're using drugs, dealing drugs, public nudity, sex in public, creating an area of filth, and I read there has been a death from an overdose. I wonder how long it will be until diseases caused from the unsanitary conditions begin to spread throughout the population? What will Bloomberg do then?
