A Breakfast Souffle and the Anatomy of a Lie
63The Lie...
Good morning breakfastpoppers. Today is Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Can you recall how many times Barack Obama, the candidate and Barack Obama, the President, told the story about his mother Ann Dunham, dying of cancer while fighting for coverage with her insurance company? His story was supposed to convince us, the rats, to follow him, the Pied Piper down the road to national healthcare. We were lied to, the media never questioned his claims and nobody cared. We should care and we should also care about the partnership the media seems to have with the President. Where do we, the people, fit in ?
Let's prepare breakfast before we look into this matter. This morning we will be preparing a Breakfast Souffle that serves 6 people. You will need 6 eggs, 2 cups of milk, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, a dash of Hot Sauce, 2 cups of grated cheese (any kind you fancy), 2 and 1/2 English Muffins cut into 1/2 inch cubes, 14 thin slices of Canadian bacon cut into 1/2 inch squares and 6 (6 ounce) custard cups.
Beat your eggs and milk together and add hot sauce and mustard. Beat the mixture into submission. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix again. Spoon into custard cups and place cups on a baking sheet. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 30 minutes. While you are waiting for the souffle to cook, mix yourself a huge Bloody Mary and get comfortable. I hate being played like a violin and I am guessing you do to.
In 2008, candidate Barack Obama told an audience a sad and emotional story about his mother and her battle with insurance companies as she lay on her deathbed. Not a word of his story was true but the networks didn't bat an eye or question the truth of the tale. The fact that Obama said it was enough for them.
Now for the truth. Ann Dunham's medical expenses were paid for by her insurance company without a hassle. President Obama enjoys telling us that his mother was denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition. That's not true. Her insurance company denied her disability coverage which is an entirely different matter. The President told his mother's "story" over and over again in an attempt to tell all of us that he would fight the insurance companies every step of the way to prevent what happened to his mother from happening to anyone else.
His lie worked, because here we are and there he is in the White House. No wonder he has so little respect for the electorate. No wonder he feels immune from scrutiny from the press, who are far too busy trying to show us all how stupid Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann are.
The main stream media are now an arm of the White House busily engaged in aiding and abetting the current occupant of the Oval Office. I can't understand the loyalty of any of these people to a man who has done nothing but bring us to the brink of ruin. I guess the problem is that the media and the Democrats are wedded to an idea and a man instead of feeling an allegiance to this nation. I guess they don't mind being lied to and manipulated. I do mind and I hope in 2012, all those voters out there who feel as I do will show up and take our country back...POP...

As I wrote - the electorate is stupid - or at least, has become stupid. I feel we need to get to a system of testing before one can register to vote. If you're too ignorant to be informed about the issues and the candidate you're voting for, then the person shouldn't be allowed to vote. It's the totally ignorant and/or stupid who voted for Obama in the first place and shame on them. It's borderline criminal if they STILL would vote for this con artist. I had forgotten all about this story - our main stream media needs to be thrown out on its collective arse and we need an entirely new set of PROFESSIONAL journalists who are true journalists as the constitution laid it out they should be!

Obama and the media, including those on the right, view most of America as ignorant rubes and hicks, so they think they can tell us anything and we'll believe it.
Some actually do, and they're Obama fans.
Obama's press secretary stood before the White House press corps and scolded them yesterday for referring to some of his statement as "talking points." When asked where the Obama plan is for this issue, he further scolded them for not staying late on Friday to hear the President's grand plan announcement and the details there of. Apparently, many of them left early to enjoy their weekend. Now, if you have a plan that is that sound, why would you make it so hard for the media to get the details of it...pass out some flyers. Again, we have manipulation taking place and the group of people being manipulated fall over themselves apologizing for not doing their job. Unfortunately most of them need to be apologizing to the American public for not doing their job and not pressing the issue. We have reached a time when the press corp in Washington is "go along to get along"..."don't ask any difficult questions, you'll be banned from the briefings". How dare the president or anyone else to attempt to exclude the media in such an extortive and exploitive manner...we do have a free press the last time I checked. Poor ol' Richard Nixon would have loved having this bunch around when he was in the hot water of Watergate. WB

Those who support Obama are willing to make fools of themselves trying to defend him. I see it over and over again and it is maddening. One such person was in Hannity the other night. She was the typical 12 year old Democractic "strategist" who argued that Obama did not need to have a plan to fix the economy and to suggest that he have one was ridiculous. It's like trying to talk to a brick wall!

I never thought he would last even this long as Press Secretary. I'm speechless at healthcare and stories. I've barely had health insurance anytime, because my father refused to buy it when I was a kid and my employers all cancelled it. Maybe a full 10 years I had health insurance. I'd rather go to a medicine man at this point.

I'm not surprised by this. Hopey-Changey and his helpers Pelosi and Reid have said whatever they needed to say in order to ram through Obamacare. This has become the Mode of Operation for the far left in Washington, and sadly, for most other politicians.
The healthcare debate was always framed by the far left-that's a good part of the reason why Obamacare got through. Conservatives didn't do much to assist Americans in dampening the increasing costs of healthcare, so when the far left grabbed ahold of the issue they had the upper hand.
Conservatives should have pushed years ago to repeal some federal and state mandates for insurance. Tort reform has been an issue for years and no one has gotten anywhere with it. Sad, but conservatives have played a role in getting us where we are today. Are you sure you want them in control in Washington?

Pop - Well written and informative! This made me step away from my own world for a moment and think about what the heck is going on outside the walls of my office, the walls of my house. In reviewing the comments made by other to this hub, I definitely feel the anger and even frustration and fear out there. Things are changing, not just in the US...it is a bit overwhelming, really, and I am easily tempted to just turn the other way and read about some celebrity instead of really, truly seeing reality. But what is reality?
We can all point our fingers at Obama or we can look further into the past to try and find where it all began…which was not with him. I am not arguing what has been said here at all…I agree, bad decisions have been made, and false statements made, but let’s all be real here…he is not the first politician to embellish a story to win an election, or to get what they want. And don't think I am standing up for him, I really am simply thinking about this, and sharing my thoughts...and I would actually place all of the blame on Obama, but really on our society as a whole. On average, our priorities have shifted, and there are many different pieces to this puzzle that led to the mess this nation is in. Pointing the finger at one person or one group of people is just not accurate and really does nothing to solve the problem. I pose the following questions…and just think about it…Obviously first of all, Obama aside, how can we solve the problem with healthcare? What is the problem with healthcare? What caused healthcare spending to spiral out of control? Have any of you looked into the financial fraud that is occurring involving healthcare and insurance coverage and how that impacts everyone? What are your thoughts about our current educational system and what that means for the future of this country? Again, these are just some thoughts…Pop thanks again for a well written, thought invoking hub.

Thanks for such thought provoking commentary. Obama is blamed because he is the President and the buck stops at his door as it did at the door of every other president. It is unseemly for him to keep invoking the name of George Bush. He did that very thing in his last empty speech and he did so only one minute into the speech. Of course, we have to look to the electorate who elected Obama despite his sketchy background, lack of experience and association with many questionable people.
As far as health care is concerned, yes we have problems but Obamacare is not the answer. Some of the things in the bill are excellent but many things are not. Blame Congress for passing a bill that they never actually read. Now it's we, the people, who have to live with the consequences. If the bill is so remarkable, why all the waivers? We need to start over and fix thongs calmly and sensibly in a transparent way. Remember transparency? Where is it?

I saw this story last week and supposedly when asked about it The White House said it doesn't invalidate the need for coverage without regard for pre-existing conditions. Holograph man ( Obismal) must make up an interesting past to enliven the computer generated personna!!!!!! LOL.
