A Hash Brown Casserole and The Observer
66Why?
Good morning breakfastpoppers. Today is Thursday, February 18, 2010. Scotty, The Observer, is still with us. He told me that although he misses his friends and family, he can't, in good conscience, leave us in the mess we are in. Scotty asked me to prepare a Hash Brown Casserole for him this morning. If you want to make one too, you will need 2 pounds of frozen hash browns, 1/2 cup of melted butter, 1 can of cream of chicken soup, 1 pint of sour cream, 1/2 cup chopped onion, 2 cups grated cheddar cheese, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, 2 cups crushed cornflakes and an additional 1/4 cup melted butter. Defrost your hash browns and combine all ingredients, except for the cornflakes and 1/4 cup of melted butter. Put the ingredients in a casserole. Saute the cornflakes in butter and sprinkle on top. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes. Bring your casseroles over to my place and let's hear what's on Scotty's mind. See you in an hour.
Welcome breakfastpoppers. It is a pleasure to see all of you again and it is a delight to share breakfast with you. I have observed a very disturbing tendency on the part of your President and his administration that I wish to discuss. Can anyone explain to me, why your President makes such poor choices when he names people to important jobs in his administration? We all know about the Van Jones fiasco, but the insanity continues and I am appalled.
Your President has appointed Rashad Hussain to be the envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference. What a disturbing choice this is. Mr. Hussain was quoted in 2004 as saying that an American who aided a Palestinian terror group was the "victim" of "politically motivated persecutions" who was being used to squash dissent. He addressed a group of Muslim Students at an event in Chicago and told them that if they did not speak out against the injustices taking place in America, then everyone's rights would be in jeopardy. The American accused of aiding the terrorist organization, Sami-al-Arian was sentenced to four years in prison after he pleaded guilty to conspiring to aid the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a group described as one of the most violent terrorist organizations in the world.
So what do we have here? Clearly, this is another example of the President choosing people to represent the United States who have views that violate your values and beliefs and that run counter to the best interests of your country. You should call your President on the carpet for this choice. You must let him know that you are highly suspect of his motives and his choices and that you deserve an explanation for yet another highly questionable decision.
Your President Obama made a point of telling you to judge him by the company he keeps. If you take him up on his suggestion, I'm afraid he comes out looking very bad, indeed. Let us not forget, Rev. Wright, Van Jones, Arne Duncan, Mark Lloyd, Patrick Gaspard, Kevin Jennings, Cass Sunstein, Anita Dunne and Andy Stern to name just a few. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he appointed Dracula to oversee the nation's blood banks.
I think it is time for him to explain his choices, his associations and his views on capitalism, democracy, the Constitution and the war on terror. You need to know where he stands, what he really believes. Who is this man you elected President? Who is he...POP...
Pop, I don't expect the president to make better choices, or apologize for those he's made, let alone get rid of anyone with the exception of Van Jones. He has his personal agenda and his attitude says, "America be damned!" There is a hub that shows his royal highness with Blagojevich, numerous times whom he denies knowing him.
I was talking to my son this morning who lives in Melbourne near where the president is virtually closing down the whole space program as well as, newer high tech planes, etc. It will wipe out 2000 jobs in that little community which means mom and pop restaurants, numerous small businesses.,etc. Yet, he can built a bullet train from Tampa to Orlando for $1.25 billion + and who in the world will ride this train from nowhere to nowhere? His priorities are pathetic.
Sorry for getting on the soap box. Frustration is oozing out of my pores! See you for a long night at the bar. I'm buying.
Once again impeach! Impeach! IMPEACH! Better yet have Scotty, beam him up he is of no significant use here on the planet. BP you have fixed a favorite of mine with the hash brown casserole and I've have two eggs over easy with mine and a good cup of Folgers, uh, no cream please.
Morning POP, my conclusion is that since Obama hides all his credentials, he must not be the American he claims to be. What a perfect way to sabotage our country, than to have Obama elected as President, just think we don't need anymore planes flying into tall buildings. My only hope is that eventually he will fail and the truth will come out. Thank Scoty for being so observant!
POP,Scotty,
a very fine view into who you play with can make you stink. In American fashion, Christianity, the original root of this country and it's foundation is being cut off and the rise of Muslim rights are being brought to the surface. It's an age old practice as we put minorities first by quota in the work place over hiring ability big companies were forced to hirer minority. I don't think anyone won in that move. This move will be different as their is much loss in this country if the anointed foundation is destroyed. King Saul in the old testament story of 1st and 2nd Samuel is a good demonstration of what happens to a powerful state when it turns from it's God given strength. We can discuss it at the bar, we've two buyers so it can go late into the night, see you all there!
POP: The line up of people who have suspect backgrounds is astounding. The administration should be ashamed; but they are not. They are slowly and deliberately changing the look of America.
Why do we have to attend an Islamic conference anyway?
Scotty would never beam up Obama. He would never want him on his planet. It would be nice, however, to see him beamed into outer space - he could be another bit of junk in the pile of trash up there.
I'm off to the bar - save me a seat.....

Forrest Gump provided the best explanation regarding Obama’s poor choices. Tell Scotty just as Forrest said Stupid is as Stupid does. In spite of all the hype about his IQ, this guy is really very STUPID!
Why Shouldn’t a President named Barrack Hussein appoint someone named Rashid Hussain to be the envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference? And as we are often told when someone on the left gets caught I didn’t say that; you are mistaken and then in rushes the Main Stream Water Boys led by Wee Wee Leg Mathews to savage the person or news organization that had the courage to report the truth. So in the case Hussain’s disturbing quote on 2004; are you going to believe your lying eyes or are you going to believe what I tell you?
Scotty, this President harbors views that violate our values and beliefs and that run counter to the best interests of your country; but because we on the Republican side chose a Cardboard Cutout for a candidate that refused to expose how radical this American Hating Muslim was and is, the country elected we are now stuck with him!
Scotty, I suggest you forget about trying to understand why this country did what it did and wait until the November elections when maybe, just maybe, the Great Mea Culpa will occur and we’ll begin to eliminate some of the rogues and thieves that have aided President Hussein destroy this country. Until then have a drink my friend and another and another and another……….
Pop,
Breaking news. Rassmusen reports only 21% of Americans think government has consent of the governed. 63% say they dont.
During my prep period here at school, I always turn on Fox News. Based on the frequency with which Barry is hogging camera and air time, perhaps he should have become an actor instead of trying to be a president. By this point, we should have long since ceased being surprised by the ilk of those Barry likes to socialize with. The election for our next president CANNOT arrive quickly enough for me!!!!!!!!
BPop, I must admit - and maybe you've realized this already - that I'm not overly knowledgeable in what's going on in politics. At times I think I should have more interest because it is, after all, in my own interest - but other times I think it's a blessing that I'm not more aware.
I do enjoy reading your hubs and feel I'm being kept current. Sure, it's one-sided, but I am on your side! It certainly sounds like this idiot (Obama) is attempting to sabotage our government. Why isn't he being held more accountable?
Who is he, indeed.
BPop there is no way I can add anymore insight then to what has already been chronicled here. Lets face the facts people were so angry with Dubya they would have voted in Pee Wee Herman if he was on the Democratic ballot. Obamas associations had always been suspect but now I feel there is no further room for speculation. All of his cabinet you listed above are no less then nutjobs and anti patriots ! (If there is such a term ) His phlosophy flies in the face of most Americans. I look forward to midterms and getting rid of some of his stooges.
Hi POP... I must say that I for one am tired of holding all these politicians to a higher standard of morality... They are, after all, only human. Lest you forget that this is a country that adored and continually elected a murdering senator, that elected a crack addicted mayor of a major city, that elected a tax evader charged with enforcing tax regulations... so having a few shady friends here and there with socialist agendas really, in the grand scheme of things is no biggie. You guys are all so sensitive.
I jest, of course, but the fact of the matter is that what is clear is that career politicians are no better than shady mechanics, greedy realtors, and bad teachers. They are not in it to help the populations they serve, they are in it for the big money grab, the power plays, the ego trips, the pensions and pushing a selfish agenda completely out of step with the american public at large... so it really is not surprising that this man, who has an agenda unrelated to that of the well being of this nation and its future, would surround himself with people who are in step with this agenda...
Pop, It is now more than one year since Obama was sworn in as President of the USA..If we have to ask just who is this man we have elected to be our President, it should be obvious we have made a mistake. Little good was known about Obama, but he was elected simply because of his skin color.
Today it is the only thing about him we can be certain of,,
and it is clear as Black and White! Too many questions and too few correct answers! One thing you can be sure of,,,
I love Hash Brown potatoes...
Save me a spot at the bar, and bring along any leftover hashbrowns! I think I could make better appointments than the POTUS!
Pop,
Dick Cheney just brought the house down a the CPAC convention when he said "I believe with all my heart, Barrack Obama is going to be a one term president!!"
Pop / Tom,
I cannot see how he could get re-elected. He has lost 2 Governor's races, and a Senate race, and that is after only a year. He may be a lame-duck President after the midterm.
He has lost greater approval numbers in one year than most Presidents lose in their second term.
The news about Rashad Hussain's appointment sickens me. How can this happen? Our forefathers would turn in their graves should they see the bold Obama's tactics and disregard for the American people. Seems the children of the pioneers got spoiled along the way and have no appreciation for the freedom our forefathers fought so hard to gain. Afterall most voted him into office. Geezzzzz I'll meet you at the bar pop ... order me a diet coke and fries ... make em greasy so I can try not to choke on the news.
The president has picked all the wrong people for positions that represent the government. What did we expect? A majority of Americans picked this guy for president for all the wrong reasons. BARTENDER............
Oh POP, this is so true, and it's crazy, why can't we change this, look at what happened today, a guy dived his personal plane into the IRS building. His sucide letter said the american people are stupid for letting all this happen in our country. Yes, the guy is nuts, but my point is how do we fix this mess, what can we do as the peasant in the valley paying our taxes and trying to live, while the insane king, does just whatever he wants no matter how nuts. Oh, I must stop, I am so so so out of hash browns today...grrrrrrrr
"Your President Obama made a point of telling you to judge him by the company he keeps"...very true in deed, unfortunately most people are not getting informed. Thanks for the information/hub :)
Hello there friend breakfastpop. You continue to amaze me with your point of view. Thank you for sharing these realities of our world. I sometimes feel sorry for the president or whoever that comes in and takes over any office. You see, I still believe in disappointments from winning. As the saying goes; "to the victors comes along the spoils" or however it was said. He inherited these problems and he needs help badly. :(
Great Hub POP! You are right on.
well, his roommate remembers him being at Columbia...and one of his friends. and a guy who taught an honors seminar.
why doesn't someone just call someone @ the University and ask them? or is that private info. he said he "was a monk" while there, almost a recluse. i can't imagine a man with his sparkling personality and good looks being a recluse. haha funny hub although you probably didn't mean it to be... ;)

Pop,
Scotty is truly an astute observer. I myself had also commented on this poor choice by Obama. I think by now that at least strike three. He's gotta be out of hear and the sooner the better. I can't stand anymore of this crap. Meet you all at the bar and I'm buying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
