A Spicy Scramble and an Inconvenient Truth

By breakfastpop

Sorry...

Good Morning breakfastpoppers. Today is Monday, September 26, 2011. President Obama is running around the country trying to win friends and influence people. What he is not trying to do is tell the truth or offer a viable plan to save our nation. ObamaCare is at the root of many of our fiscal problems. Small business is not hiring, health care providers are apprehensive and patients are wondering just what kind of care they will be receiving. One segment of our population should be especially worried. They are our seniors and their concern is real and looming thanks to the actions of the president.

Let's prepare breakfast and take a look at the problem. This morning we will be creating a Spicy Scramble. For 2 servings you will need 4 eggs, 1/4 cup diced onion, 1/4 cup diced red pepper, 1/4 cup diced orange pepper, 3/4 cup diced ham, salsa, as hot as you like, and shredded low fat cheese. Oil frying pan and add onion, peppers and ham and cook over low to med heat. Scramble eggs in a bowl and add to pan. When eggs begin to set add cheese and cook until melted. Serve with salsa. A Bloody Mary would make a nice addition to the meal. Try to relax and enjoy breakfast while I share a few facts with you.

President Obama's deficit plan gives an ObamaCare advisory board more powers than originally intended. The Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) is a 15 member body that was created by the health care law. They are empowered to cut Medicare payments to doctors. All this cutting begins in 2014 if spending grows faster than the growth of GDP, plus 1 percent. Expect that to happen so that payments to doctors fall below the target. Expect that seniors are going to find it difficult to find good medical care as well.

Things get worse when you discover that the president's deficit reduction plan lowers the threshold thereby allowing IPAB to cut spending if it grows faster than GDP growth by 0.5 percent.

Now here is the heart of the mess. As of right now IPAB is not permitted to change Medicare benefits. They are only empowered to cut payments to doctors and hospitals. Under President Obama's plan the board will be allowed to make changes to benefits otherwise known as rationing.

We have to be honest with ourselves because we have a president who has no intention of telling the truth about his proposals. This board would evolve into a rationing board because there will be fewer doctors and hospitals accepting Medicare. The end result is that seniors will be scrambling to get badly needed care. Is this the America you envisioned? ...POP...

The problem is either Obumma does not reallyt know what is in Obummacare or he knows and won't admit how bad that program is. Morons got us into this mess because the morons voted him and his socialist cronies into office. Thanks for nothing. A good drink should help calm me down. I am off to the bar NOW! Pop,

Good Hub. Gov. Palin called the IPAB what it is, a Death Panel. Candidate Herman Cain spoke the truth about Obamacare in last weeks Florida debate when he said he would have died five years ago of his cancer if Obamacare had been enacted at that time.

I have never in mjy life seen another president who will make anything up out of whole cloth like Obama to try to prove his lies.

Good morning taxlarry,

I don't know what to think about ObamaCare. It's awful, that is for certain so I can only assume that Obama and the Dems like the idea of inflicting pain on the American people. See you at the bar.

Good morning Tom,

The rejection and rationing has already begun even though the law is not yet in effect. A few of the doctors around here have already decided not to accept medicare patients ahead of the law. See you at the Inn.

POP: Another hidden "jewel" is related to Obamacare and the new stimulus plan Obama is pushing. If anyone purchases an insurance supplement to pay for what is not covered under the new healthcare policy, they will be fined. He is trying to put the health insurance companies out of business, and then we'll have more unemployed. He is relly trying to make us a third world country. I'm with taxlarry - I'm off to the bar. Someone please save me a seat.....

Good morning Pino,

Now this is a tidbit that I hadn't heard. The noose is tightening. Patriot wrote a hub this morning that explained that every single transaction we make in the bank will be fined 1 percent. That means any single transaction. We should put our money under our mattresses! See you at the Inn.

The reason President Obama is not trying to tell the truth is because HE CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH. He wouldn’t recognize the truth if it bit him in the ass! The old joke is applicable here; you know how you can tell when Obama is lying……HIS LIPS ARE MOVING….hardy har har!

Another Obama-ism that makes absolutely no sense at all; further cut Medicare payments to doctors while increasing the number of Medicare Patients through Obama Care. Makes Sense to me RIGHT? Aughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh when will this madness stop; we are indeed living in Bazarro World and still around 50% of the populace supports this madness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course Obama’s Goons are only empowered to cut payments to doctors and hospitals, after all that falls in line with his other Class Warfare Initiatives; after all those evil Drs. are among the richest amongst us and everyone knows they are only Drs. Because they were lucky in Life’s Lotto; nothing to do with hard work!

Morning POP...The promise of eternal care and feeding is the promise of the Judas goat, right up until the slaughter...This is all about control of the masses and power to the few " enlightened " social engineers that want to shape human activity into their idea of Utopia...

FDR's 2nd Bill of Rights unwritten message was the subordination of the individual to the needs of the many; a flawed and failed Hegelian/Rousseau social construct that denies choice...

The government's role in any human need or endeavor should be limited to equal opportunity, equal access, and equality of Law...Not equal outcomes...

See you at the tavern, Pop...I'm about equaled out..Larry

Good morning maven,

Well, Obama was well schooled in transforming a capitalist society into a fascist society and his plans are in full swing. Ultimately, if he is allowed to continue he will have a majority of the people begging the government to take care of them. One crisis after another weakens resolve and energizes people like him. See you at the Inn, maven.

They can call it anything they like but ultimately this is a "death panel" for senior citizens deciding what and where dollars will be spent. People have paid in their money for the Medicare Program now only to be denied sevices based on their age...the Ponzi Scheme thickens. WB

In summary, I'll have spent 80% of my whole life without health insurance. My father refused to buy it at work (optional),most of my employers did away with it, and those that offered it (with me paying part) had huge deductibles that I never met because I was usually healthy and wellness care was not covered. Now no, or little, Medicare in future as well?

I've spent 1,000s of volunteer hours helping people actually discard wheelchairs, getting kids into mainstream classes from special classes, helping kids with autism, helping kids and adults avoid bone and joint surgery...and for me when I might need help sometime, nothing?

Another thing. Living Will templates I see have nothing to check off for wanting to continue to live; they are about wishing to die and not having life saving measures. I am writing my own this week, to the effect that No one is to pull the plug on me and medical staff persons are to find more plugs and options. My law firm will be active.

Trouble has already erupted. I know so many people who have been informed that when they reach 65, their doctors will no longer treat them. As for denying services to seniors, well that is a given. See you at the Inn.

I am on Medicare and carry an expensive supplemental, as well as, the prescription plan, part D. I have been in my Medicare gap for 2 months already as some medicine is so expensive. I can manage this but after 2014 I will need a miraculous healing or I'll be out of luck. The excellent health care we have enjoyed in this country is becoming a thing of the past when doctors can't get paid and people lose access to medical treatment.

When I wrote a hub about ovarian cancer one of the commenters was from England and lost a good friend because the doctor but off the testing for several months, so by the time she was diagnosed it was too late. That is what rationing health care will do for Americans. Somehow the message needs to get out to more people so they understand the gravity of the situation.

Pop, he is creating an atmosphere where the younger voters will not care they will go to the polls with a solid belief they will never see a dime of the money they pay in, sadly they are right, but I hope that they have the sense to vote down this Ponzi scheme as it crumbles by the hand and mouth of a out and out rat bastard liar. I can hardly blame a doctor for not wanting to work for free, I never did. The way the GOP and the tea party are going I'm afraid they shoot each other in the foot and siphon votes between small differences and end up giving the election back to Barry, if that happens the seniors are screwed but the nation will suffer barry's agenda of tearing us down to the point of no return, if we are not already there......

Definite time to have a few drinks, save me a seat at the Inn, 50

My belief is that Obama, like Nancy Pelosi, never read the bill. The best explanation I've read is it was compiled by 'lobbyists'with ties to the Soros empire. As we learn more and more about it, and contemplate the suffering and death many will endure, it seems reasonable to credit Soros.

Good afternoon Pamela,

I too had a friend from a town outside of London. She was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to wait for treatment, treatment by the way that was entirely different from the protocol here. Dear 50,

The younger vote will not go to Obama if they remain dissatisfied with the jobs situation. As for health care they love the fact that they can stay on their parents policy until they are 100! Not really, but you get the idea. He simply can't get another 4 years . If he does the damage will be done and irreversible. See you at the Inn.

As usual, the early birds to the Inn--with me showing up a day late (maybe) and a dollar short (most likely)--have thoroughly covered the core topic.

Ah, but Patty Inglish caught me with her comments!

#1: "No one is to pull the plug on me and medical staff persons are to find more plugs and options. My law firm will be active."

Gotta love that--not because I'd care to die OR live in a hospital, but just because they'll never see that one coming!

#2: "In my city, many docs won't accept self-payers...."

Thankfully, we have some Arizona holdouts on that one, since we're also (mostly by choice) entirely self-pay. Pam's M.D. helps out by charging her just $25 per visit and spacing the (routine) visits out five months apart--so, $5 per month. His usual charge is $125 per.

He has a partner, an N.P., Pam goes to for most of the "uh-oh" moments in between those M.D. visits. She (the N.P.) simply can't afford to to drop HER fee as far as the Doc does...but she still cuts it to $48 per visit and will make room to see Pam on very short notice any time there's a crisis (which with my honey is "every so often").

Then there's the mental health clinic, to which Pam goes for her Telemed meetings with her Psychiatrist. THAT Doc-and-clinic-combined visit was originally $92 per visit until the clinic fiddled around with their sliding scale based on our income. Now they charge a whopping $12 per visit...and the shrink also stretches out the monthly visits. We were there today, and Pam's next appointment is 2 1/2 months away.

Which to me is a powerful indicator of what can be accomplished by people (medical providers and caregivers and patients alike) communicating clearly with each other and KEEPING GOVT. THE BLEEP OUTA HEALTH CARE.

One of these days, maybe I'll tell ya how I REALLY feel about that. :)

Voted Up and Stuff!

He disgusts me - and many of us always knew he/Pelosi/and Harry were lying through their teeth when they said there was no rationing or "Pull the plug on Gramma." That was of course only because they had to PASS THE PLAN BEFORE THEY COULD KNOW WHAT WAS IN IT. I'll never forget a liberal just lambasting me because I said they didn't even read the thing. He went nuts saying I had lost all credibility even thinking for one second that they hadn't read it before they passed it.

That's a liberal for you - don't show them the facts - they'll crumble...
