Apple Pie Smoothie and a Fairy Tale
65To Liberty!
Good morning beloved breakfastpoppers. Today is Friday, April 23, in the year of our kingdom 2010. Today marks the beginning of a new dawn for us. We must gather together, openly, and without fear of reprisal to let the King and his henchman know who we are, what we believe in and what we want. Let us prepare a quick and delicious breakfast and meet at the door of the castle. Today has been proclaimed Patriot Day by the people of the Kingdom of Dem. After preparing your morning repast, dress as one of the Founding Fathers or revolutionary thinkers of our kingdom and head for the castle.
To prepare your smoothie all you need is 1/2 cup of apple juice, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream. Mix apple juice and ice cream in your, not yet invented, blender. Add cinnamon and pour into a glass. See you all at the castle. I will be Thomas Jefferson.
How proud and grand you all look. Good morning James Madison. So nice to see you Benjamin Franklin. Ladies and gentlemen of the Kingdom of Dem, we have gathered here this day to remind ourselves and the King and his court of the principles upon which our kingdom was founded. We are in great peril of abandoning all that has made us great thanks to the ill advised direction King Teleprompter and his band of men and women are moving us in. Let our voices ring out loud and clear. Trust me when I say that the King and his cowards are listening behind the castle doors. They will never face us directly. It's not their style, but they will hear us, so let us begin.
Will Samuel Adams please address the gathering? My dear friends, please remember this, "The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil Constitution, are worth defending at all hazards. If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." Thank you Mr. Adams for words so important and relevant all these years later. We echo your thoughts when we say to our fellow countrymen who choose socialism over a democratic republic, leave now and find your Eden elsewhere. We hear Venezuela may be more to your liking. Listen carefully, King Teleprompter, your rush to "change" everything in our great nation, is only appreciated by you and your misguided band of lackeys. Trust us when we say, you will not succeed.
Our dear friend Benjamin Franklin would like to address us now. My friends, "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. A nation of well informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the region of ignorance that tyranny begins." Bravo, Mr. Franklin, bravo. Are you listening King Teleprompter? You cannot enslave us, we are stronger than you and all your henchman. We will prevail. We understand what you are trying to do to us and our great nation and we will stop you. The forces of liberty are stronger than your lies and deceit.
Before we conclude this morning's rally, I have a few things I would like to say. "On every question of construction of the Constitution, let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed." King Teleprompter and ladies and gentlemen of the Court, we the people understand and value the Constitution. It is the cornerstone of all that has made us great and we, the people, will not allow you to trash and discard it. We are watching and we will hold you accountable.
My friends, this is only the beginning for us. We will keep this dialogue going and we will preserve our kingdom at all costs. Long live our Kingdom...POP...
Pop,
Exceptional quotes, and quite the reminder for all of those that have forgotten or purposely ignore some of the basic tenants of our Republic. Bravo
POP - In the words of Nathan Hale "I am so satisfied with the cause in which I have engaged that my only regret is that I have not more lives than one to offer in its service."
For many like me we have been blessed to have several 'lives' of service, not the least of which is the duty and dedication to continue to offer political debate and engagement. You are a true patriot POP!!
As for the King, he is now traveling for a weekend getaway to play some more golf. Yep on Earth Day week, a quick little 747 ride for two to the Carolina s for a couple days of golf... and the deficits and debt go on and on and on!!
I slipped a bit of vodka in my smoothie to relieve the tartness of the apple juice. Having drank about half of it now,I can say "Give me liberty and leave my damn healthcare to me and my doctor!". Thanks, Poppy. See you at the Inn!
Love the smoothie, pop :-).
You know I love everything you write, but I must say this one digs deeper inside of me.
What can I say? I am old and old fashioned but that does not mean I am not open minded.
:D I like this hub!
It is amazing that a group of people from the 18th centruy crafted our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution. That was an amazing group of people and how blessed we are today that they came together at the same time to create this republic. We have not seen a similar group since then, and that makes what they did more amazing. Unfortunately, we have a group today that includes the congress and the resident in the white house that probably has never read the Constitution nor do they care about it. These people are pure evil and must be driven out. Oh, by the way, I was Sam Adams. I thought I made a pretty good speech, but I think my beer is better. To the inn, my countrymen, I am buying the lager. INNKEEPER............
POP: I am so motivated by this rally, I could storm the castle gates myself. Bravo!
Even George Washington knew he didn't want a country with a king, and would not accept that position. We hav the opposite here with a President wanting to to be king.
I'm off to the Inn so that I can toast democracy all day.
Save me a seat....
Pop,
I was just re-reading some documents of the Founders. I read the letters that Jefferson and Adams exchanged in their elder years as they came back together after a falling out. I re-read the studies of the Federalist Papers, and how Jefferson and Madison had a falling out forming competing politcal parties.
These men had their differences but they still came together to write and approve The Constitution. They seem so alike I get confused between Jefferson, Adams and Madison!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Morning POP...That great and learned constitutional scholar, Barack H. Obama, agrees with Larry Tribe, another great and learned whatever, that the Constitution is a living document that should be manipulated by learned whatevers to reflect current cultural trends...Actually, its the other way around...cultural trends should reflect the genius and foresight of the Constitution and its bedrock Bill of Rights...Nothing ambiguous or confusing about these Rights...they do not change with changing political winds or cultural trends at the whim of congress...
I'm taking up taxlarry's offer of cold lager...see you at the tavern...if not, have a great weekend and look for your local Relay for Life location and support the fight against cancer...Larry
Very well said POP. Hear, hear.
Good Morning POP, this morning's fairy tale was by far the best one. It goes to the core of what this country was built on and reminds us that we've spent hundreds of years living by the rules, and in one short year this administration has tried to undermine everything this country was built on. The biggest fairy tale however is the one in which Obama lives. I read that Rahm is looking for a new job, sooner or later all the kings men will realize that the king is crazy and one by one they will undermine him. Have a great week-end!
Pop! You have done well as a patriot this day! I truly pray that it does not come to giving all in this heating battle, but I have yet to rule it out. That smart assed putz of a sorry president is going to try and pull an end run around every check and balance of the system and sadly so far he's pulling it off. We need folks yelling and screaming with outrage over these events before it comes to the whistling bombs from the sky. The Pub is serving cold ale by the pint and whiskey by the shot, so a few shots with ale backs for me to get wound!tight!
Super good hub and the rascal is in Asheville as I write spreading his stinking bull crap.
Mornin', Bpop! Pass me a smoothie and a big serving of liberty!
it is called desecrating the symbol -- constitution -- , abandoning all the god foundation tsk tsk, Thanks for the invite breakfast I enjoy the speech, Toast for the smoothie and LIBERTY -- Maita
Pop, great quotes,, Keep up the good work
Thanks
Pop, I am quite late today but I must say this is the best fairy tale ever. It was an honor to have such distinguished quests and it is heartbreaking at what Obama and liberal judges are doing to destroy the Constitution. I think it is treasonous. I wonder if this whole situation won't become violent at some point. I sure hope not. I am feeling a need for liquid refreshment so I will leave for the inn immediately.
I think we should all go back to school, um maybe in our mid-life and the class about the Constitution, it seems to me that many folks have no idea what it means or what it is about. We are in very sad times, indeed my friends, I worry about my children's and all children's futures.
Pop,
Who can say history is not filled with magnificent words!! How "out of the box" were our forefathers? Nothing like it before.... or since. We, as a Country, need to go back to our roots.
I've spent the last 10 days reading, studying, trying to figure things out, looking at all sides...and it's not looking good. Too much happening, so much it's difficult to keep track of. Who is directing it? Soros, with all of his many organizations? I think he's the key.
Thanks for this, breakfastpop. Those Founding Fathers were definitely brilliant. And are likely spinning in their graves with the present administration's radical agenda.
Another enjoyable hub bpop and as always the comments are priceless.
My favorite beer. I'm there!
A rousing WHOOT WHOOT! God bless America and YOU Pop for quoting our country's forefathers! Their spirit CAN rise again and I believe it will! WE THE PEOPLE! You have inspired and enlivened me!
love the hub Pops I am sure "The People" did not expect "The Change" to be changing everything. You are counting Days of King and his kingdom. Who do you think should succeed and how will s/he bring about the Change :)
No one will ever say it as well as our forefathers; I quite frankly don't know why they try........... the quotes are fabulous, and I still stick to my guns when I say our country's leadership is in dire need of a Constitutional refresher course......... they're way off the path and it's time they turn on that GPS and get back on the right road............
Off to make my smoothie........ just wanted you to know I was here!
kaie
Wow pop you out did yourself this time. I agree with your statements about our founding fathers and at this time my husband just took his naturalization test and passed yay and he will be sworn in next month to become an American and he is very proud to do so but it is a shame that our leaders are not more like our founding fathers.
Another great missive from you, Pop. I loved every word of it. Thank you for the fine read.

Pop,
All this living document stuff the Dems talk about is so much bull pucky!!!! The founders left us their clear intent in their writings such as their letters and The Federalist Papers!!!!!!!!!
This reconstrution of the Constitution by the Dems is pure heresy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
