Apricot Kolaches, the President and the Media
58Too Close!
Good morning breakfastpoppers. Today is Wednesday, January 4, 2012. School is in session this morning and Prof. StoptheBull is lecturing. He will be discussing the unholy alliance that exists between President Obama and the liberal media. Let's prepare Apricot Kolaches for breakfast, fill our thermoses, grab our notebooks and head for class.
You will need 2 cups milk, 4 tablespoons butter, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon salt, 2 packages rapid rise yeast, 6 cups flour and 1 jar of apricot preserves.
Scald 2 cups milk and add the butter. In a mixing bowl, add sugar and salt, pour in milk and allow to cool to lukewarm. Add yeast and gradually add flour. Knead until smooth, cover and let rise for about an hour. Roll dough into 2 inch balls, place them 1 inch apart on a baking sheet and let rise for another 30 minutes. Create a hollow in the middle of the roll and place 1 tablespoon preserves in the middle. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
You will probably be late for class, so I suggest you mix up a few dozen Irish Coffees and bring them to the professor. He will forgive your tardiness and appreciate the liquid refreshment. See you in class.
Good morning students. If you want a perfect example of what not to do should you become president you have come to the right place. President Obama has been inviting liberal and progressive media people to breakfast in the White House. Three of the invitees are MSNBC hosts. The media stars chat with the president about his economic message and his campaign strategies against the GOP. It is one big unholy family gathering, no conservatives allowed. The pretend journalists make suggestions about policy and how the president should get his message out.
It is absolutely disgusting to watch this president and the media unite in an effort to influence public opinion. This is probably the most transparent President Obama has been since his election. He is biased, not at all interested in the welfare of all of the people of this nation and completely consumed with power and holding onto the presidency. This president is not above using every single means he can to keep his place in the sun. He has the unions working for him, ACORN (even tough they don't exist), George Soros and all of his left wing groups and the media.
The people of this nation no longer have media looking out for them and reporting the unbiased truth. The one news outlook that makes the attempt, Fox News, is a target of the White House. President Obama courts the liberal press and they worship at his feet, doing his bidding and corrupting the intent of journalism. We are at a low point in this country and we had better turn it around come election time or we will continue the descent into ruin.
We need a president in the White House who, once elected, keeps the best interests of the people in mind and not his party or his backers. We need a president who backs off from meetings in the White House with people who are supposed to report the news and not manipulate it. We need to restore integrity into the election process, rid the system of union influence and corruption, require photo I.D. of everyone, restore journalism to it's original roots and adhere to the principles of the Founding Fathers who knew that if we abandoned our beginnings we would come to where we are now.
Let's try to get the "dirty" out of politics by demanding high standards from those we place in office. We can force the phony journalists off the air by changing the channel and we can get the leadership we deserve by doing our research and making the atmosphere welcoming to people of intelligence and integrity. Let's begin now. It's 2012 and we must seize the moment. That is your homework assignment. CLASS DISMISSED...POP

Good lesson for this morning. The good people of America would be better served if the Liberal media returned to advocating causes rather that being a personality cult. Asking for complete impartiality as envisioned by the founders is out of reach.
The media is certainly too powerful and people just seem to fall for whatever they say. I wish I felt more optimistic, but it is difficult as whether on TV, radio or in the newspaper they all have an agenda. There are several channels that are never on my TV, such as MSNBC.
As for the governor of New Jersey he seems to spend quite a bit of time pushing Mr. Moderate Romeny down the road. Is he the one to beat Obama? I wish I had more answers.
Very good hub Pop! I don't know who can really beat him because he (obummer) has big guns. UGH
I find it interesting about Santorum practically winning Iowa caucuses (8 votes from Romney). I kind of like this guy. I know, I know, but I do...
I too would like it if Christie ran!
Hi Pop! Happy New Year! This alliance is really damaging the nation. It seems as though their is no real independent media anymore. Sensationalism, half-truths and outright lies seem to win out. The public falls for this. I am hopeful for change - the sooner the better.
POP: Prof. Stopthebull has made some very good points. The ever-evolving role of the media is scary, and Obama is manipulating them every step of the way. How will we ever get the facts to make any informed decision when the media is so biased? FOX News tries, but they have been so damaged by Obama that anyone who wants the facts will not use them.
I'm off to the bar. Save me a seat.....
Pop, knew Santorum was due, but like all thing good must fall on this earth, I don't thinks he's got the dollars to play, but today while we are at the Inn, things may change, I'm off to the Inn,50
Good morning - excellent points with the media and Obama. I think most of the people are seeing through it because people's personal circumstances don't agree with what the media and Obama are trying to tell/sell them. Thanks to you and others on HP that search out and gather the facts are a tremendous help in seeing through the propoganda.
BPOP - Hmmmm... I can think of better people to have breakfast with than the Koolaid Slurpee crowd myself.

What I've seen is we have the msm, the administration, democrats and many republicans all against us. against America as we want it to be. They all want an end to capitalism, just like their little occupy groupies.
As I watch this, and watch Boehner pretend he just can't outmaneuver the dems, it looks almost hopeless.
Yet - there's one republican hopeful they all hate - Newt. I've read all I can find about him. Like Sarah Palin, he had dozens of lawsuits against him while Speaker. He lost one, and I'm not bothered by it. Even taken at it's worst, it's nothing compared to Congress' record with enriching themselves with insider knowledge.
Boehner was one of the gang who wanted Newt out as Speaker. Seeing how Boehner has sold us out again and again, I know he's not on our side. So - maybe the enemy of Congress and all of the others is our friend - Newt.
BPOP - Yeah but remember this: It ain't over til it's over.

Never, bp, in all my born days - and there have been many, many of them - have I known a U.S. president who supported protesters. Except the present POTUS. Does this make sense to any voter? Wake up, America, before it's too late!
1960 - 1963 Kennedy supported civil rights protesters, as in Alabama by sending the National Guard to help black students enroll in the Univ., in speeches and in other instances; but that is different from the Occupy movement, which seems contrived and paid-for.

It is a formidable task. The problem is the morons outhere, the morons who elected the empty suit in the first place. And the REpubs have to come up with someone who can beat Obumma. So far, I haven't seen that person. What's the governor of New Jersey doing these days? I am off to the bar. BARTENDER...........
