Black & Blue Bombs and the PIP-POP Awards
55So Fine!
Good morning breakfastpoppers. Today is Tuesday, February 7, 2012. It is time for the 67th weekly presentation of the coveted PIP-POP Awards. Let's prepare our customary liquid breakfast and head for the theater. This morning we will be be creating Black & Blue Bombs. You will need 1 and 1/2 ounces Cherry Vodka, 1/4 ounce black raspberry liqueur and 1/4 ounce Blue Curacao. Pour ingredients into a ice filled shaker and shake. Transfer the liquid into a shot glass and you're done. Put on your finest attire and I'll see you in a few.
Welcome one and all. This morning's ceremony promises to be fun, so without further delay let's welcome NBC's Brian Williams to the stage. Sir, you were appalled when you saw the tape of Gov. Jan Brewer pointing her finger at President Obama on the airport tarmac. Perhaps you should have tempered your outrage because you were captured on tape jabbing your finger towards Pres. George W. Bush during an interview. Any thoughts? No, well please accept this POP and return to your seat.
Our second POP of the morning bears the name of President Obama. Naturally, the president could not attend so will Press Secretary Jay Carney please come up to the stage? Mr. Carney, the president walked out of the annual black tie dinner held at the Alfalfa Club after he gave his humorous speech. It was the first time anyone could recall a president leaving before the other guest speaker got to make his humorous remarks. The speaker was Jeb Bush. It appears that your advisors suggested that you not spend too much time at the event which is an annual gathering of the business and political elite. We can only surmise that you were reluctant for your Occupier friends to see you mingling with the one percent. Of course you don't mind taking their money, but too much mingling is not politically correct.
Our third POP Award of the morning goes to all the disgruntled Federal workers who are actually paid higher salaries than their private sector counterparts. It comes down to this, Americans pay high taxes so that government workers can make more money in salary and benefits for the same exact jobs performed outside of government. Huh?
The fourth award of the morning is a POP and the recipient did a rather strange thing. Will the woman who fell in love with a building during an Occupy Seattle protest please come to the stage? It is rather astonishing that you decided to marry the building in an attempt to save it from demolition. If you got this idea from your Occupier friends, we suggest you look elsewhere for advice.
Our last award is a PIP that bears the names of the New York Giants and the New England Patriots. You gave us a great Super Bowl experience and we thank you for diverting our collective minds away from the pressing problems facing our nation.
Let's wrap things up on this high note and raise our Bombs on high. PIP, PIP HOORAY...POP GOES THE WEASELS...

Pop,
Great collection of POP "winners" and Hear, Hear for the PIP. Justice Ginsberg deserves a dishonorable mention for her advice to Egyptians to ignor the US constitution for ideas for their new one and look to South Africa or Canada. Follow your own advice Ruthie!!!!!
BPOP Now anyone knows that Oblabber Mouth is only interested in what he has to say. Give the man a break! He's too busy with himself to be concerned what anyone else thinks.
WHOOPS! Was there a 3rd awardee? I am paying attention ya know?
The PIP is well deserved. They gave us an all time high performance. Check on that 3rd thing iffin ya will.

PS - Why the low initial Hub score? I'm just askin' Mr. Moderator.
Good morning POP and POPPERS! Sorry I was a little late. I forgot today was awards day and didn't come properly dressed. Had to go back and change. I must say I'm looking pretty spiffy right now!
Great hub, great awards. I would love for you to write about the old witch Ginsberg. When I read about her comments in the news yesterday, I was ready to throw out Ginsberg and bury her in the Constitution. Moochelle Obama said in 2008 that she was never prouder of this country then when her husband was nominated. Well, Moochelle, I have never been more embarrassed by and disgusted with this country. In fact, our whitehouse reminds me of an old Cher song...Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves. Just my humble opinion.
Seriously though, that Ginsberg can actually verbalize to the American public that Egypt should look elsewhere for advice on their new constitution while she degrades ours...wouldn't you think she could be removed for that? I would love to read YOUR fair and balanced hub on this topic.
Great awards! Glad I changed my clothes what with the way rumors fly these days. I believe I will be joining you all at the Inn tonight.
Great awards ceremony. I think Brian Williams should dhut his big mouth and just REPORT the news. Obumma is garbage and he wouldn't like his campaign staff, the occupyers, to see him near a Bush. As for the federal workers, why don't they make sure they paytheir fair share of taxes for the money we give them? And the Super Bowl did live up to the hype. Both teams played exciting football. I am off to celebrate the Giants win at the bar. BARTENDER............
I dunno, bp, why would it be so unusual for the Egyptians to ignore our Constitution and look elsewhere? Our very own President DOES!
Right , bang on my sense of humour. You must be THE best way to start any day, with or without the vodka..........
Sorry I have been so slow in getting to read your hubs. I hope you agree with ´better late than never´-.
Little Sister With Giant Brain,
Boy, nothing gets by you! You nailed those bums. Great work little sister. I'm going to drop straight to the Super Bowl.
My teams are the Texans, Cardinals and the 49ers, so I really didn't have a dog in the fight, but it was a good Super Bowl for me none the less. I've always done pretty well with my football bets, averaging about $2500 in winnings per season. I don't bet college, and I normally don't bet beyond the regular season in professional football. I didn't do nearly as well, as I normally do this year, and I bet on the Super Bowl for the first time. I am happy to say that due to the fact that Brady's receivers couldn't catch a few well thrown balls, I finished the season $11.00 in the black!
Back to the hub .. I know that the liberals have to back the president, but I don't know how they could not, in their hearts, be disgusted with some of the things this guy does. I know they can't admit it, but most liberals are not the obnoxious types that make all the noise, and I'm sure this guy makes them uncomfortable, whether they admit it or not. I've never seen anything like this guy.
Jim
It does seem to be posted through media that the government officials are well paid and much more than what the private sector receives for the same job. I love pcoach's comment on Cher's song!
POP: Sorry I'm so late. Problems with a mouse (computer, not rat), and had to purchase another one.
I am at the theatre and the lights are dark, so I'm going straight to the bar where you will all be having a good time. Go Giants!!!!! Let's keep partying.
Save me a seat....
A woman fell in love with a building?
And tried to marry it?
Someone please tell me this building has that I ain't got.
Then again, maybe not.
pops, didn't know about that hypocrite Williams- pompus ass.... As for Obama-what a shock he has no social graces or protocol what a pathetic loser-sore winner.he's the toddler in chief...
I have discussed the disparity with people in the government who have the same or less qualifications as me and still complained about getting paid almost double what I was...
As for that nut case marrying a building maybe she should be
in the building when its knocked down.
TH
pop,
i dont want to know what she did to consumte the marriage...

Good hub pop and yes the super bowl lived up to the hype and for many of us we can be happy the Giants were the winners. I have never appreciated the "big ego" and when their bubble is busted especially with a hail Mary and two opportunities flew by in a flash, it all seemed a fitting end to a great season. As for marrying a building and fingers in the face, just consider the source and have pity.
