Breakfast Meatballs and a Lesson in Madness
60Cease and Desist
Good morning breakfastpoppers. Today is Wednesday, March 17, 2010. We are going to class this morning to learn how to hijack a nation, defy the will of the people and spit on the Constitution. Let's prepare Breakfast Meatballs and head to the classroom. We can pack them up in our lunch boxes and fill our thermos with something strong. Trust me, we are going to need the drink. This insane recipe serves 15. You will need 6 pounds of ground beef, 4 pounds of breakfast sausage, 8 eggs, 2 cups of chopped onions (for those of you who can't be in the same room as an onion, skip the onions), 1 cup of green peppers, 2 pounds of shredded cheddar cheese, dry mustard to taste, minced garlic to taste, salt and pepper to taste, (don't tell the Assemblyman from Brooklyn about the salt), 1 cup ketchup and some cream, just enough to saturate the meat mixture. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients and form into 2 inch meatballs. Bake on a cookie sheet for 30 minutes. If you can't personally eat 10,000 meatballs, freeze them and microwave them when you want to enjoy some for breakfast. They can stay in your freezer for three months. Okay, grab several hundred meatballs and head for school.
Good morning class. We have a very serious topic to discuss today. I am going to tell you how to ram through a very unpopular bill that the people who will have put you in office don't approve of. You can accomplish this without actually casting a vote! That way no one can blame you for voting for it when the country falls apart and one-third of all the doctors stop practicing and the public has to beg the government for a mammogram or a PSA test. The good news is that once you are officially a part of Congress, you won't personally have to deal with any of this because you are special and golden.
The first thing you must do is use a method that is both complex and questionable as far as it's constitutionality is concerned. Don't let such worries deter you. Trust me, the public really doesn't care about process. They are only concerned with results and it is imperative that you ignore their pleas to start over and enact legislation that is fair and balanced and cost effective. Don't pay any attention to their point of view. They simply don't matter anymore.
It is very important that you pick a deadline for passage of your bill. Make it quick and unreasonable and don't give anyone a chance to read the bill, especially the people you represent. Just forge ahead like a bull in a china shop. Get the unpopular bill passed and then claim you didn't vote for it, which will be true. How beautiful is this? By the time you are up for re-election the public will have forgotten all about this underhanded maneuver and you will be re-instated for another term. Trust me, the people have a very limited attention span. Of course, if your maneuver is challenged, you do run the risk of it being declared unconstitutional. I wouldn't waste too much time worrying about the Court. Just as soon as the bill is passed, taxes will sky-rocket and everyone's attention will be focused on just getting by. At this point, just blame George Bush for the fiasco and turn a deaf ear to your constituents. They are a sorry lot anyway and you must get them off your radar screen.
Of course the good news is that the government will now control one-sixth of the economy and it can only get better from here. Power is a beautiful thing and when it is used to promote a socialist agenda, then it is truly a magnificent thing. Study this lesson well and you will rule the world.
Breakfastpoppers, normally I believe in behaving in class, but I'm sorry, it's time to launch your meatballs! Fire away...POP...
Hey POP... it is a shameful shameful thing to actually see our government buck the democratic process all in the name of ramming an agenda through. The use of reconciliation or whatever the heck he is using is a huge slap in the face to American citizens who have a different opinion. I guess when Mrs. POTUS said (and I am paraphrasing here) that Barack won't let us live life they way that we know it, she meant to include that the democratic process would be ignored, the voices of the people would be ignored and that any opposition would be met with name calling and vows to "quash" the opposition. This is a terrible example to teach our children, it is a terrible injustice to the American way of life. I still cannot fathom how no one is standing up and saying very loudly (but calmly), don't throw the baby out with the bathwater, fix only what is broke, treat out seniors with respect and value their contribution to all of our lives, tell the young people who choose not to buy insurance that they have to buy it, force the insurance companies to make insurance more affordable and impose a no discrimination againt pre-existing conditions rule, and who cares about the poor starving artists and writers who must starve for their art and shouldn't have to take a day job to get benefits... I mean, COME ON! Fix what is broken, attend to what is not working, identify it with specificity and then this could be something we could all get behind... Till now, the 22 pounder and I will fling our meatballs with giddy delight and then head to the bar!
This underhanded method is very upsetting and you are right that by election time many Dems will say well "
I didn't vote for it", which will be true. The bill will be unveiled today and I imagine we won't like it one bit, and then they may only show the privileged few as that has been their pattern. From what I understand, Obama has threatened the Dems concerning the elections if they don't vote for the bill. He will withhold money they might receive from unions and other places so they will lose. If this is true, it is just more Chicago politics.
As the curtain descends on what was the light of hope for the world, the United States of America, another curtain rises on the United Socialist Sstates of America. The Marxist in the White House and the socialsts in Congress must be very proud of themselves. Pamela is right, they will say "What vote"? I believe our Constitution, which is being trampled, says that in order for a bill to become law it must be passed by the House passed by the Senate and signed by the pesident. If there is no vote, how can it become law? If what they want to do comes to pass, the law would have to be unconstitutional. I would hope that there are some constitutional lawyers out there who would rush to court to challenge this debacle. Mark Levin has stated that he would do that. This is a very hateful administration and a hateful legislature. If this health care bill passes, we are doomed to Marxism, communism and all other isms we can conjure up. I can't imagine a worse time in my lifetime than this. I hope the freaking FBI is reading this. Come and get me. I'll be at the bar. BARTENDER...........
Well POP at least in Chicago they keep the snow off the streets! I made my meatballs extra crispy so they'd take a little skin with them when they hit! After all the king and the princess and princes are taking some off my butt with this thing and no pennies for the bandaids!! Guess I'll just have to have them kiss it better!
Hoooah!
Breakfastpop
They make nice replicas in China-cheap too.
Yay! I already have meatballs leftover from last night's dinner so I'm all ready (although your sound better than mine!) Thanks for the lesson, I feel smarter already ;-P
Pop,
Isn’t it amazing that these “representatives” of the people will stop at nothing to promote and accelerate their own agenda relying solely only the apathy, ignorance and liberal panacea dreams of their voter base.
When did such a large portion of our society become so fool hardy?
Oh wait, could it be, Liberal Arts and Political Science degrees? Perhaps indoctrination based primary education curriculums? Maybe just the politically correct “everybody’s a winner” philosophy, or possibly just institutionally instilled laziness?
The United States congress has become nothing more than the largest multi level marketing scheme ever known, with so many of the fool hardy buying in lured by a hokey vision of utopia.
Normally, people do have a short attention span. However, this situation is very different, becauseObama is crippling the USA. A Democratic candidate who ran on the platform of impeaching was selected in the Houston primary on 3/7/10. Houston....
Good hub
I worry about all of this too even though I am in the position of being unable to afford the health insurance at work. I also agree that most people care little about the process which is a flaw in American thinking. I never thought about meatballs for breakfast before.....
Pop...Your lesson for today is well taken...
Lets see now...Last year, the Democrats passed the stimulus bill without even reading it.
This year, they are trying to pass the healthcare bill without even voting on it.
This bum's rush to get these bills passed presume the American public is too stupid and uninformed to decide whats best for them...The arrogance astounds..!
The POP ( Pissed Off Party ) joins virtual hands with the Tea Party as they storm DC this week in protest of this Marxist takeover of 1/6 of the American economy...Just what we need; another 150,000 new govt employees organized by the SEIU...
I'm loading up with meatballs, that taste like fake elk, and launching them like a Nolan Ryan fast ball... high inside and hard...
Jellio...I'de keep the baby home today...those meatballs are going to be flying...Innkeeper !!!...Larry
Morning POP, I'm in awe about Pelosi's idea of not working to persue my artistic talents, and Rosie O'Donnell suggestion to ask any welfare recipients if they are unhappy with their health benefits. In both instances I feel like I'm watching the comedy hour. As a matter of fact this whole presidency reminds me of a bad movie about living on the Planet of the Apes. It's disturbing to watch the Dems parade around small children to promote their death bill, and to listen to Pelosi and Obama lie day after day with no consideration of the thousands of people protesting just outside the Whitehouse. I wanted to alternating my meatballs with tomatoes, and eggs however, I decided to conserve for there will surely be hard times ahead, and I may need the extra food.
Let's see how many appropriate adjectives I can think of from the top of my head to describe this crap bill: unconstitutional, illegal, sneaky, underhanded, socialistic, unreasonable, baffling, incomprhensible, non-representative. I could go on, but I may need my thesaurus. Thanks for a smile, they are getting harder and harder to come by!
They are so desperate to pass this bill, I feel certain there's more to it than even what we've been told. I have mitral valve prolapse, which isn't very serious, but I can't get insurance. So, guess what, I pay my doctor, and it turns out to be less than if I bought insurance. Should I need hospitalization, I know every hospital has a business office where you go to arrange for financial help, be it by reducing costs or applying to a charity.
Here's my point - I know I won't be better off if this bill passes, and I'm sure it will harm everyone. Why should an employer or those who earn more have to pay more so I'll have insurance? Will it cost people more jobs?
But, this process has been good for us, because now we've seen how truly corrupt Washington is. These will be such difficult years until 2012, it's almost too much to contemplate. What's next on their agenda???
Pop ,, firing those meatballs at this bunch of idiots is a waste of good meat, those vegetarians would not know a good piece of meat anymore than they recognize integrity. This bill would not be pushed like this if it was not for the fact that our President is Half Black and it is so important to so many that he does not fail.. Failure of one man, on one issue is more important than dragging America and Americans into the quagmire of this so called Health bill. Tossing meatball at this bunch of Meatballs won't get the job done, it will probably take something with a little more Bang behind it!
Hi Pop this is the news I have been looking forward to seeing you fantastic hub. This is sooo, so, so disgusting, I call for an impeachment of everyone on capital hill, what jerks, of course you put is in such a nice way. Oh, and by the way my friend...HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY...ALWAYS YOUR FAN
I guess next time I make a contract with a client, I will be able to change it if it doesn't conform to my current desires. Heck why not raise the price whenever I want to buy a new high priced 3D television, or car. Heck, I will just tell them to pay me and reduce my services. And if they don't like, so what?
Pop, The trouble with this bill is that it will never go away. They have tried to pass several times in history. And they are almost there this time. Like a bad nickel, it keeps coming around.
Keep on hubbing!
Hey POP and Maven, don't worry 'bout the 22 pounder... she is pretty feisty and could probably hurl a meatball or two...
;)
Good morning POP, I always get something new information from you. Although it little difficult for me to understand about the political climate in US. But After reading this hub twice, I understand about this topic. I can't comment due the problem, but I hope the best. Thank you very much.
Need some pineapple with my meatballs so I can down a couple of margaritas. We need to stay in tune with the healthcare situation and agreeably vigilant. Every petition that comes my way my name is on it. We don't need the government to force us to buy health insurance. Great hub I had a margarita for you while I was in New Orleans over the weekend. Cheers!
Ha Ha No-style of government!!!!
'
Good morning POP,... you have given good information.. nice hub..
Good morning POP! Meatballs for breakfast? Well, why not?
Having worked in the health care field for 33 years I have seen more and more government intrusion. Everyone wants a piece of the health care pie. That's the problem. The money is there, people want and need health care and budget accordingly. Underneath all this hoopla is the government's attempt to get a bigger slice of the pie.
The insurance companies have had the biggest slice for the last 20 years and have shown the nation what a nice tasty slice it is, so that's what Big Brother wants.
I have to tell ya, the more things change, the more they stay the same old, same old. Nothing is really accomplished, the money just changes hands. I've seen this over and over.
Good luck in the food fight! May the best meatball win!
POP, missed this as my notifications are not rolling in, again and I keep getting a cross bar that flashes up in my reply box as I type, one letter it is there and the next it disappears I feel like I'm being watched by a keystroke program.
Hi Pops, I am coming behind with my meatballs and sling shot. I still have an upset tummy from my double but I am there with you. Was I suppose to freeze those meatballs because I did. oops that might smarten someone up. I doubt it. Blessings Pops. You are awesome.
Thanks for sharing the news. I may be a day late and dollar short but I can pray that is for sure. There is power in prayer. God help us to sharpen our minds. May God help us. Stay in the Light my friends.
Until next time pops Big Hugs + + +
50 Cal - are you using Vista? I had keystroke problems when I did, so I switched to Windows 7. Ahhhh, much better!
Pop, I spend practically my whole day now just trying to figure out Medicare pay rules and FDA regulations for blood transfusions. Anyone who doesn't know that the government isn't already controlling health care is sadly uninformed.
Doctor's will not leave health care, they will just continue to brainstorm about which "codes" pay the most and diagnose accordingly. It's just a big messy game we play. By law, we cannot turn down medicare patients and if the HHS doesn't want to pay for something, they don't. Just like private insurance. It's going to get worse and worse no matter what "health care" reform comes down the pike or doesn't.
The scary thing to me in health care today is the lack of work ethic of the young people. We recently had a patient bleed to death during the night and a new nurse popped off and said it "wasn't her patient". True story. This is happening more and more frequently and it scares me. I want to retire soon, but now I can't trust the next generation to take care of me.
Yes, we will have to take charge soon and see that health care is truly reformed, but I'm not holding my breath as I have seen every "reform" in the last 30 years fail. It's all going to come down to personal responsibility for your own health care. Choose wisely!
i love this hub have a nice day friend

Pop,
You may have started a new Reality TV Series. "Meatballs for Meatheads" it would be a #1 hit. Ready, aim, fire it a sure winner.
On a more serious note I think we must put our hope in state's rights. Virginia has now passed a bill through one house and the other is considering it to outlaw any Virgina citizen from being mandated to by any product including health care. The new Virgina Governor fully supports this action, and 36 other states are considering similar legislation.
