Buttermilk Biscuits and a Fairy Tale

The End Is Near

Good morning beloved breakfastpoppers. Today is Friday, March 19, in the year of our kingdom 2010. Conditions in our beloved kingdom have deteriorated at a rather alarming rate. The King and his band of thieves are poised to cast a vote in three days that will change our lives forever. We must ready ourselves for this eventuality. Let us prepare a repast of buttermilk biscuits and gather at my humble abode to discuss the situation. Please go to your larder(which will be bare after the vote) and gather together 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 cup buttermilk, 1/2 stick butter, 2 cups flour and 1/2 teaspoon salt (which will soon be banned from the land). In a large bowl sift all dry ingredients together. Cut butter into the flour with your finger tips until the mixture feels like the consistency of small peas. Blend buttermilk a little at a time into the flour until it is moist. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead until easy to work with and not sticky. Roll out and cut biscuits to your favorite size and bake in your pre-heated hearth set to 450 degrees. Bake until golden brown. Pop them in your basket and head for my place. I'll supply the butter and some grog.

Welcome, my friends. Our long struggle against the evil King and his people is coming to an end this week-end. King Teleprompter and Princess Pouty Pelosi have been busily engaged making back room deals and strong arming reluctant legislators to make sure that the health care bill they have crafted passes before week's end. Oh, the sheer madness and inhumanity of it all. We have been raising our voices in protest all these many months only to have the King turn his back on us and encourage his minions to ram this bill into law by any means possible.

The King and Pouty Pelosi are celebrating the news that the Congressional Budget Office has released numbers that prove that the plan is fiscally responsible. Balderdash I say! Blasphemy! The numbers rely on unprecedented cuts in Medicare, high taxes and it's assumptions are completely unrealistic and bogus. Worker Bee Doug Elmendorf, who directs the CBO, recently admitted that his models for stating the stimulus plan worked pre-assumed the conclusion. We cannot rely on this man to produce accurate figures, because it can't be done. Clearly, the King believes we are all too stupid to see through the gimmicks, lies and distortions.

The overwhelming truth is that if this heinous bill is foisted upon us it will mark the beginning of a march towards socialism. This is what King Teleprompter yearns for. It is why he rose to power and he is determined to succeed. The King will control our health care, our banking, our energy, our chariot companies and our student loan business. He has even instructed his people to insert reform of student loans into the health care bill. He is brazen and arrogant and he yearns to rule us with an iron fist.

We have only three days left to plan and execute our attack. We must storm the castle and raise our voices in protest, we must deliver thousands of strongly worded messages to the castle and let those who reside inside know what we are feeling. We must give it all we have, because if we don't and this bill passes, we can kiss our beloved parents good-bye, our trusted doctors and our hard earned gold coins. We will all be poorer and sicker, both physically and emotionally. So I beg of you, let us stand united and give it one last try. We won't go down without a fight...POP...

Fight, fight fight fight

Get the King within our sight

Tell him well

Give him hell

Fight, fight, fight!l

Pop,

The reconciliation bill is even more evil. It's a twofor. It combines government takover of both health care and student loans. This insidious madness goes on, and on, and on. Will it never stop?????????

breakfastpop profile image

breakfastpop Hub Author 23 months ago

Good morning Tom,

I don't think it will stop as long as Obama is in power. This is really a bad dream that I wish I could wake up from. Come to the Inn and we will console one another.

Let us not forget that BHO taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School. He has a law degree from Harvard. Certainly he is aware of the rules clearly enumerated in the constitution defining how a bill becomes law. Surely he knows that many Americans are concerned about the the machinations threatened by Democrats to pass the health care bill without voting on it.

Unfortunately, in his interview with FOX earlier this week, he said "I don't spend a lot of time worrying about what the procedural rules are in the Senate."

oops.

Dear Nicomp,

Oops is the operative word indeed. BO was an instructor and not a professor as he claimed. I think he is aware of the law, but just doesn't have any respect for it. This is a man who wants to change the Constitution. I pray he leaves office without completely turning our country upside down.

Good morning Pamela,

Big Brother has come to the U.S. What's next a camera in everyone's home to make sure we are not eating too much salt or watching Fox?

POP:Obama is strongarming the dems, stating that they will not get any re-election support from the party if they don't vote for this bill. But what of the Dems not runnig for re-election? I guess they just don't care. What I'd like to see is some of the yes votes say no at the time of the vote! We'd only need one courageous person to start the ball rolling. Then more would do the same. However, I do believe that there are only spineless men and women in our Congress. Wait unti they go home for the Easter recess!

Now, to make matters worse, they will be voting on Sunday, during the NCAA Basketball tournament! Woe is me!

I think I'll spend the weekend at the Inn, as well. I'll be glued to the TV (What is that?) watching Basketball all day, all night, all day, all night.... Life is good!

See you at the bar save me a seat, or a shelf under the bar....

Morning BPOP...Excellent review of a coming catastrophe...a catastrophe in both human and budgetary terms...As this duo of March Madness descends upon us, Americans will be watching the one on basketball courts, or the one in the House of Representatives...while underdogs occasionally win on court, the American people ( underdogs ) haven't a chance against this Chicago machine ramming through this despised takeover of the world's finest healthcare system...sure, it needs fixing, but like anything requiring major change you do it incrementally, with a clear understanding of unintended consequences...and for effective, long term change you get the American people involved in that change, making them a part of it...

See you at the Inn...I'm bringing the limes and salt for Hmrjmr1's Jose's Gold...Viva la America....Larry

Let it not be forgot, that once there was a spot, for happily ever-after-ing that was known as Camelot. King Mordrid is on the verge of destroying Camelot. They are indeed destroying us without firing a shot thanks to Nikita Reid and Let-em-eat-Cake Pelosi.

They do aspire to the philosophy that if they say it enough it will be so. Of course everyone knows the phony assessment from the Congressional Budget Office was obtained by providing it with a bunch of bad data. Like the old saying goes Garbage in equals garbage out but King Hussein has decreed it will cut the deficit; so LET IT BE WRITTEN-LET IT BE SO!

Correcto-Mundo; grab your shovels and start marching to Bataan! It is there we go to bury this Republic. From Each According to His Ability to Each According to His Need! All Hail the King; King Hussein; Long Live the King!

Unfortunately we have stormed the castle; raised our voices in protest; delivered thousands of strongly worded messages over the past year to no avail. The King does not give a Rats-Rear-End what we think and the good Princess has put enough of her fellow Bolsheviks on the rack and twisted and stretched their limbs until they acquiesced.

Unfortunately, the only thing left to save our beloved Republic is Divine Intervention; so Pray my friends Pray!

Good morning maven,

Your comment speaks to the heart of the solution to health care reform. It makes perfect sense, it's a measured and thoughtful path to a fair resolution of this struggle. Now, on the other hand, we have Obama and Congress determined to act irresponsibly and destroy our health care and our lives. Higher taxes, poor medical care, a shortage of doctors and that's just the tip of the iceberg. I'll be at the Inn and I'm supplying food and drink. It is going to be a long weekend.

Good morning Patriot,

Yes, we have done it all. We have stormed the castle, launched our tomatoes, traversed the moat and protested loud and clear. And yes, it may prove to be of no avail, but I say this. Let's do it one more time, just one more time before Sunday. Meet at the Inn, bring your patriotic spirit and some tomatoes and we'll head to the gates of the castle, say our piece and return to the Inn to drown our sorrows.

You speak the truth as always. I am nearly certain that they cheating dems will BUY enough votes to pass this crap. We can now only pray for the senate to undermine this garbage, and the constitutional challenges which can only be ruled upon favorably as this bill is CLEARLY unconstitutional. Of course, if Barry and his thugs have their way, the constitution will be shredded and used to start their celebratory bonfire!!

Good morning Sheri,

This weekend will set the stage for our future. Once this bill passes, then it's on to the next takeover. Obama has not an ounce of respect for the Constitution. nicomp profile image

nicomp Level 6 Commenter 23 months ago

"Oops is the operative word indeed. BO was an instructor and not a professor as he claimed."

Well, with all due respect, the U of Chicago released a public statement clarifying Obama's title. He was indeed a professor rather than an instructor. Titles are highly prized in academia; I have no reason to believe that UC would equivocate on this issue.

I do have first hand experience in this world. I was an Adjunct Professor last year, this year I was a Visiting Professor. Neither position is tenure-track. The word 'professor' was/is in the title granted to me by the university where I teach.

Regardless of what he called himself when he taught, he's got enough current problems of his own making without picking this nit.

breakfastpop profile image

breakfastpop Hub Author 23 months ago

Dear nicomp,

Point taken. Thanks for the clarification. Whatever you call him he is still misguided in his vision for our nation.

sheila b. Level 5 Commenter 23 months ago

We have seen some of the payoffs, but I think we also saw something else at work. Massa announced he would not be running for office again. I think he was being threatened and so he thought that was the way to save himself. But that's not what they wanted. They wanted either a yes vote or to get rid of him so they'd need one less vote. So they went after him with the ethics investigation. When was it ever said he was soliciting young boys? Never. He had lived with young men - to save money. They didn't like living with the boss, so he moved into his office. And his questionable words and tickle fights? Maybe his more than twenty years in the military means he came from a different culture than most of us know. Whatever it was, there's no indication he ever broke any laws. So where were the Dems to speak up for him? They didn't. They wanted him out, and they orchestrated the whole thing. Do I think they have info on others? Probably. Do I think they'd threaten others that they'll leak that info? Yes. They are the most bloodthirsty, coldhearted bunch there ever was.

When the Christmas senate bill passed, the AP reported the story as passing in spite of Republicans wanting Obama to fail, voting against the bill. The Hell with what 300,000,000 people want or don't want, we need to make sure our President does not come up a loser!!
