Feeling Good!

Good morning breakfastpoppers. Today is PIP-POP Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Let's prepare our traditional liquid breakfast and head for the theater. This morning we will be enjoying a Cafe Barbados. You will need 1 and 1/2 ounces of dark rum, 1/2 ounce coffee liqueur, black coffee, whipped cream and shaved chocolate for garnish. Pour the dark rum and coffee liqueur into an Irish coffee mug. Fill with hot coffee. Top with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate. Put on your fanciest attire, handle your breakfast with care and I'll see you all in a few minutes.

Welcome one and all to the 60th weekly presentation of the coveted PIP-POP Awards. Let's jump right into the show by welcoming Minority Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to the podium. Please accept this POP for making the incredible assertion that extending unemployment benefits once again would add 600,000 jobs to our economy. Is this some kind of new math you're using?

Our second POP of the morning goes to a high school in Riverhead, New York for suspending athletes for staging a spontaneous bout of Tebowing in the hallway. Surely, there are worse things these kids could do. Take the POP and know that this entire audience will pray that you gain some perspective.

I think this next POP is going to blow you away. Please welcome a representative form Caracas, Venezuela to the stage. It is our understanding that a nativity scene in Caracas went beyond the usual assembly of characters. Much to our horror, Hugo Chavez was placed right below baby Jesus. Please return to your country and give this award to Mr. Chavez.

Our fourth "winner" of the morning is President Obama. Naturally, he is unavailable so his travel agent has generously agreed to accept this POP in his honor. President Obama and family are embarking on a lavish 17 day long vacation in Hawaii. The First Lady is traveling on a separate plane. The cost of the vacation is estimated to be in the neighborhood of 4 million dollars. We, the taxpayers, will be footing a nice chunk of that bill. It is reassuring to see the First Family tightening their belts just like the rest of us.

I don't know about you, but I am ready for a PIP. This last award goes to the American people for coming to the conclusion that the biggest threat to our nation is not big business, but big government. A recent Gallup Poll indicates that despite President Obama's attempts to vilify big business, the people are not convinced. There just may be a light at the end of this tunnel.

Let's conclude the awards by raising our drinks on high and toasting the PIP-POPS. I thank you all for attending and I look forward to meeting again next week. Happy Hanukah and Merry Christmas!

Pop,

All awards are greatly deserved by the "winners" as usual. The thought of Hugo in the nativity scene is enough to make me take the Lords name in vain!!!!

We must get the Obamas out of office before travel costs send the nation over the brink into bankruptcy.

Good morning Tom,

You just make this stuff up! See you at the Inn.

Pelosi should be sent back to San Francisco and be told to stay there. The weirdos there can have her. Hugo in the manger. Now, that's funny. As far as the Obumma's vacation, I would like to know how many presidents have traveled places but their wives have gone on separate planes. I don't recall of any. these two do it all the time, and that costs us how much more? Anyway, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Happy Kwanzaa, Seasons Greetings, Happy Holidays. If I have offended anyone, T.S.! See you all at the bar. Time for some holiday cheer. I'm buying! BARTENDER...............

PIP to you pop!!! Well stated!

I will be having surgery tomorrow so probably won't make it to the inn for a few days, but the Cafe Barbados sounds dreamy!

Merry Christmas and/or Happy Hanukah!

POP: I am always amazed by Nancy Pelosi's statements. I don't think she has a working grey cell left in her brain. I think all that botox went to her head! Get it?

As for Chavez in the manger, what an ego! He's just got to be everywhere! I hope he's available for Ground Hog Day! The Obamas really know how to rein it in when the economy is suffering! This is an outrageous unnecessary expenditure! Obama Family: Stay home! The American People are not a stupid as the Congress and WH want us to believe. Kudos to us for being the non-believers!

Great Ceremony as usual. I see we all dressed up in Red, Green, Blue and Silver! How festive!

Happy Hanukah and Merry Christmas to all.

See you at the bar - I'm on my way - Save me a seat....

Good morning taxlarry,

You make a good point about the separate planes. I'll look into it. As for Pelosi, she is off her rocker, so San Fran is a good place for her. See you at the Inn. It's the first night of Hanukah!

POp we're starving to death in the land of plenty, not from food or material blessings which are slowly but surely drifting away but from good old common sense and leadership which exhibit and practice impeccable integrity. The awards given today present more evidence of this man made famine of truth and payday is a coming. Wishing you a Merry Christmas from the Blue Ridge where we still celebrate the Reason for the Season, with Him there would be no Christmas.

pop,

I agree with your criticism of our presidents spending a great deal of peoples money, however you don't seem to recognize that most of our past leaders, 'republican and democrat' federal statesmen up to past presidents has taken advantage of the common peoples taxes. Big businesses are taking over smaller businesses, for example: farming with negative results for the consumers having to eat meat and produce with dangerous poisons. With the results: the corporate farmers are cashing in big time, while the common people are experiencing a health downfall that is slowly but steadily exposing itself. Bottom line: Many (and growing) Americans are doing more of their food shopping using farmers markets.

The media keeps reminding us that Bush also took vacations, but what they don't point out is that he usually just went to his ranch in Texas, while the Obama's go all over the world, and usually take two planes to do it!

breakfastpop Hub Author 5 months ago

Dear Ronnie,

This is a hell of a time to be going on lavish vacations using some of the taxpayers"money. As for the food supply in this country, I am just now becoming aware of the danger inherent in genetically engineered foods. I really have to study this more. See you at the Inn.

Good morning Will,

The media will only report what they want and the facts be damned. The nation is being brainwashed. See you at the Inn.

pop & will,

Sounds like some of our hubpages are brainwashed.

vraja,

Pop, great choices out of the multitude that you've got me hooked on thinking "pop" or "plop" as I watch news or read it, and I guess that bad fortune sells attention due to the lack of "pip" news in the media outlets. I just read they have successfully engineered an H1-N1 bird flue so they can work backwards for a cure. Is it just me or is that about a stupid as it gets, I mean what was wrong with working back ward with the one we have?

Obama is blowing cash on big times, and granted others have as well, just not in the midst of a failing economy.

I don't know what "tebowing" is so it must not be a big deal, I only classify things that can kill some one as a sport or game....

Since the majority has taken the stance there is no "Lucifer", "Satan", Devil or Hell, whats the harm in Hugo having a little fun in the hay?

As for Pelosi, she should be air dropped over, "Frisco where the Crisco sales are high" dressed as Santa in the middle of a Wall Mart parking lot that's up hill from her estate so she can run home [terrible pun, just had to]

On that list of poor taste replies, I need to go to the Inn and wash out my mouth with plenty of alcohol, 50

PS. I'll send out a prayer or two for "Moonstruck" that the surgery goes well tomorrow, 50

Thank God for the Pips in life BPOP. Though amusing the POPs up there are pathetic people with pathetic ideas of how the world should work.

The first to a political whack, hack job. It went down hill, or maybe uphill depending on your point of view, from there.

Marry Christmas to one and all.

Good Awards as usual Pops...Almost makes me want to say...What's wrong with you People in Washington...is there something in the Drinking Water that seems to melt your brains? Well, maybe after this vacation the President will actually feel like doing something sensible...who knows there may even be hope for Nancy...RIGHT...

A Very Merry Christmas and A Happy Hanukkah to one and all!

Dear 50,

Tebowing refers to NFL player who has the audacity to pray on the field. The kids did the same thing and got suspended. What a world. As for Pelosi, I swear I can't look at that woman and hearing her speak and spout all the half truths is complete torture. See you at the Inn. I'm heading there in two minutes. There is nothing wrong with your mouth!

Have you ever heard of: do unto others as you would have them do unto you!? How is his privacy in religion hurting you? I may not share his religion, but I am pleased that he has not expressed negative comments about other religions.

BPOP, Great show. It is beyond me how Pelosi ever got elected, let alone became speaker of the house. What a ludicrous comment! Chavez must have hired someone to carry that enormous ego he has.

For some reason I am not getting my emails and had to go looking for your hub. I haven't figured out what is wrong at this point but I'm glad I found this hub as it is excellent!
