Applause!

Good morning breakfastpoppers. Today is Tuesday, October 4, 2011. It is time for the 52nd weekly presentation of the coveted PIP-POP Awards. It is our custom to enjoy a liquid breakfast during the show and today is no exception. This morning we will be preparing a Cafe Royal. You will need 1 and 1/2 ounces Patron XO Cafe, strong brewed coffee, freshly whipped cream and cocoa powder. In a heated coffee mug add Patron XO cafe. Fill to within 1 inch with coffee. Top with freshly whipped cream and dust with cocoa powder. Put on your dancing shoes and boogie on down to the theater. Our honored guests are anxiously awaiting our arrival.

Hello, everyone. It is with great pleasure that I welcome to the stage a member of the CIA ( in disguise), a member of the military and President Obama, The president will not be appearing because we can't find him but let's get to the presentation of the first, and sad to say, only PIP of the show. This award is being given to you all jointly for bringing down senior Al-Qaeda leader Anwar-al-Awlaki. Well done!

Our second award of the day is a POP bearing the name of the Obama administration on it. No one is here to receive the award so we'll present it to thin air and send it over to the White House. The Obama administration is escalating its crackdown on tough immigration laws into 4 new states in order to determine whether or not the federal government will challenge the laws in court. The Justice Department has already sued Arizona and Alabama and now it has Utah, Georgia, Indiana and South Carolina in the crosshairs. God Bless America!

Our third POP of the morning goes to NBC for devoting an entire segment showing gripping photos of First Lady Michelle Obama dressed "down" and shopping in Target in Alexandria, Virginia. Wasn't it so lucky that a photographer just happened to be along to catch the shopping spree? I am sure American women are pleased to see that the First Lady is scaling back and making sensible shopping decisions because of the tough economy. She is one of us and we are proud!

Our fourth POP of the morning is a feel good human interest story. It seems that big time Mexican drug traffickers imprisoned in the U.S. are complaining of harsh conditions while in captivity. Apparently, they are locked up alone for their own protection and the isolation is depressing them physically and psychologically. They used to get so much exercise beheading and hanging people and now they are getting flabby. Well, apparently a Federal Judge agrees with them and now at least one inmate will be let out of his cell for outdoor recreation. Let's hope the trend continues.

Our last award of the morning is a POP bearing the name of MSNBC host Martin Bashir on it. Mr. Bashir blames attempts to cut the budget on recent deadly outbreaks of listeria in cantaloupe. Free market principles are also to blame. Here's to Mr. Bashir for breaking down the situation in such a interesting and peculiar manner.

Ladies and gentlemen, the show has come to an end. It has been a pleasure spending time with most, if not all of you. Let's raise our Cafe Royals on high and toast all the "winners".

Until we meet again. PIP-PIP HOORAY...POP GOES THE WEASELS...

PIP PIP Hooray for the CIA and the military. Obumma did nothing. Someone should tell the feds that the government has immigration laws that it sees fit to ignore. If that is the case, it should beleft to the states. Sorry I missed Michelle shopping in Target. Did Target have the Xtra large she needs? I think the judge should be thrown into a cell with the Mexican drug taffickers without play time. Martin Bashir is an idiot. Did I just see a black Suburban circle the parking lot? Well, boys and girls, I am off to the bar and leaving by the back door. BARTENDER.................

Pop,

So many deserving Poppers and so few rewards. Eric Holder, Mr. I misunderstood the question about "Fast and Furious" and didn't lie to congress, the lame stream media's love affair with the lefty protesters of Occupy Wall Street, Etc. Kudos for your choices!!!!

Pino Krisio 7 months ago

POP: Glad I dressed up for the show. It was great! What a standing ovation for the CIA and Military. I think they want to come back, so they are going to try very hard to do this again!!!!!! Erik Holder will just continue to sue States, as that takes the heat off of him. I cannot even express my feelings about Michelle shopping at Target with the proper cameramen available. OK, I'll bite: Does Mr. Bashir think that the 12 congressmen have contracted listeria? Are they all on cantelope diets? Great awards, all well-deserved, but I need to get to the bar to get Mr. Bashir out of my mind. Someone please save me a seat.....

Good morning taxlarry,

I think leaving by the backdoor is a fine idea. Pretty soon we may all have to walk around in disguise. See you at the Inn. I'll be the one dressed like a fed. I will be arriving in a black SUV!

Pop, I slow to go with the first assassination of a US citizen by the CIA, I question not the order or deed this time but will they hand it over to law enforcement or pull a drone strike on US soil Like an interstate or else where if they are in the US when located. Something to consider.

Bravo on pops, think the rats will wear the clothes? see you at the Inn, 50

Someone needs to tell Mr. Brashir that listeria can be avoided by washing your products before you cut into them. It is sad that the cameras in Virginia did not pan outside the Target to show all the poor souls in the parking lot being held hostage by the Secret Service while the First Lady perused the store. She really has no sense of what it entails to go into the public marketplace. Just another day in the life trying to pinch pennies at Target...ho hum! WB

Good morning Wayne,

Bashir thinks that Republicans are cantaloupes spreading listeria. There is no way to change his mind. As fro the First Lady shopping at Target..give me a break! See you at the Inn.

Dear bp - In these distressing economic times with so many, I believe 14 million people, out of work and looking for jobs, isn't it mindless to shop at a store named, 'Target.' Just sayin'.

Pop, I hubbed against the first assassination order of a US citizen, mostly due to not enough information accompanying the order. I've taken note of reasons as they either developed or were released. They, if true, add up to a good kill. I may release my hub in view of it, favorably, again if the information is true this guy was a bigger threat than Usama Bin Laden in recruiting and swaying "Jihad" from with in. My only concern is how will they deal with the surely coming "other" US Citizens involved in kind, only running loose on the streets of the US. Will they throw a drone strike against a motorcade on interstate 5 in rush hour traffic? or turn it over to a branch of law enforcement to diffuse the situation, in a safe manor? A heavy hand was used and actually took out two US born terrorists, good? yes. Method? OK with one and all considering where it took place. My question is only "would good" be the answer had the CIA deployed a drone missile launch in or on a US city, town or interstate. Would there exist an OK attitude with collateral damage or loss of innocent life that Americans shrug and move on over as long as it is in another country. That is the rubber hitting the road when I look at the possibilities, of a US strike in town at home. No?, 50

I think killing Anwar-al-Awlaki was the right thing to do also as he was an enemy combatant. The POP awards were well chosen as usual. I can't imagine why anyone would think twice about the comfort of Mexican drug traffickers. It is amazing that MSNBC employs so many idiots! See you at the inn.

Dear 50,

That is a scenario that I just can't conceive of and I pray that it will never happen. Call me naive, but I doubt that it ever will. I would love to read a hub written by you about this subject, With all your experience it would be fascinating.

Dear Pamela,

I think one of the job qualifications to work at MSNBC is, "applicant must be an idiot". As for the killing of Al-Awlaki, good riddance. See you at the Inn. I think it best that we barricade the doors once we are all in safely.

Morning Pop...Great pick for the PIP...I have to disagree with 50 to some extent...Any American that chooses to kill other Americans is fair game in this asymmetric war on terror... There's no specific battlefield and the enemy isn't an army...

It's a war without boundaries, a war directed against multiple enemies, not just one adversary...and unlike all wars in the past, there is no end game, no truce to be signed...

The endless possibility means the war on terror is, in theory, an endless war...a war that approaches something closer to a way of life...

It is simply a war of attrition, and to that end we must fight and kill them abroad so we don't have to face them here at home...That means any and all terrorists as defined by their actions against Americans...

The ill-defined " War on Terror " is vague and unspecific...Political correctness will not allow us to call it what it truly is: War on Radical Islam...Larry

50 Caliber profile image

50 Caliber Level 7 Commenter 7 months ago

Larry, we are in line on thought I absolutely agree with your assessment as to a no out type of war, you can't put an end to it, each triumph like this one is solid gold but no means an end as there are others to fill the role that was just temporarily slowed.

I'm just thinking on the line of how many are here in the US, just like this guy, leading from a key board and influencing, people to pack their underwear with explosives to touch off a fart that will be heard around the world.

My point is not to, not stop them, I believe they need stopped dead just as this one was. It is a matter of "how" they accomplish the stop when the target surrounds himself with American, people, housing, traffic, I know you get the drill on this point of stopping a target here at home. The keyboard could be located in a California condo project with neighbors that are separated from them by 2 feet of wood and drywall. Will the CIA who has too much self pride, turn the kill/capture over to a law enforcement division that is familiar with and trained for hitting a hard target in these situations with out hitting 12 other homes, I expect that challenge is in the works somewhere in this country right now and having seen the CIA and their methods, I worry that once they get the leeway to blow away, what you describe quite accurately as, never ending targets, on US soil, they will move to free will run riot, endangering civilians while they are at it. Just look at "Operation Fast and Furious" a result of giving the bunch too much rope and it's not over yet when it comes to the hanging. No?

I can't stand it. Why has fruit always been politicized in this country, ever since (maybe before) the early Cold War ad campaign "The Kremlin Hates Bananas"?

Politicos and Pundit-os, leave those tortured fruit vendors and their wares out of it. The harvest apples are gathering to rain hurt down on all of you any time now... Yes, the skill will be falling.

Good afternoon maven,

I agree with you although I can see where 50 is coming from. I just refuse to allow my mind to come to the place where drones are targeting terrorists in America. If we had refused to kill this terrorist because of some confused notion that he deserved better because he is a citizen then we really would have lost the war on terror. He chose to turn on our nation and he deserved what he got. See you at the Inn, maven.

@50...We are both on the same page, Dusty...When it comes to domestic seek and kill targets there will always be mistakes made by the gung ho macho folks that love to dress up in black balaclavas, pistol velcroed to leg, and toting a black sub-machine gun with night scope...What a load of crap...Snipers killing women holding their baby in arms, shooting kids in the back ( both FBI shootings at Ruby Ridge ), Waco, DEA storm troopers kicking and killing household pets, raiding the wrong home, and any number of other alphabet agencies that use force rather than brains because they can, makes me concerned about abuse of power...I just can't see them using drones here...That would never be allowed...

All the take downs here in the US have so far been non-violent with the suspects grabbed off the street or taken at home...I'm sure the time will come when they will hit an armed group that will respond with force, like the Symbionese Liberation Army back in the day...Larry

@Maven, all you said weighs on me a bit thinking back and you are right on line with my thoughts. I figure sooner or later drones will fly the boarder war, they are just getting popular in horse power with no human life at risk. I wish I could believe they will never swerve off the border into the edges of Arizona. but

I never would have believed we would sell weapons to the drug cartels with the thought that we or the Mexican Marines would not end up fighting against those very weapons. Our current administration is none to bright, it seems so it's like a video I just saw a bunch of soldiers playing with a monkey and one hands the monkey an AK47 after it had been watching them and the monkey goes full automatic on them luckily in the dirt at their feet and I was laughing 'cuz they were dancing like the old cowboy movies until the gun went dry and they took off running. That is our current folks at work, I'm afraid, LOL

Hi Pop!

These are pretty disappointing times, when the president doesn't seem to support the mission of our young men and women risking thier lives for thier country.

The country is in perilous times and the administrations priorities are to bully states that are trying to protect thier borders!

The typical liberal creed to never punish the perp, seems to be intact, with federal judges coddling brutal murders illegally here from Mexico!- Try to smile anyway!-WBA
