Cinnamon Twists and a Fairy Tale
60Enough!
Good morning beloved breakfastpoppers. Today is Fairy Tale Friday, February 10, in the year of our kingdom 2012. King Teleprompter and his merry band of troublemakers are after us once again. This time they are attacking religious liberty by mandating under Obamacare that religious employers provide health care coverage for contraception, abortifacients and sterilization. We need to discuss this further and I suggest that we prepare breakfast and bring it to the Stream of Coercion where we won't be disturbed by the King's men.
This morn we will be preparing Cinnamon Twists. You will be making enough for eight people. Gather together 1-10 ounce can of refrigerated biscuit dough, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts, 3 tablespoons butter and 1 and 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon.
Preheat your hearth to 475 degrees. Place sugar, cinnamon, and nuts on a plate and swirl them around.
Remove biscuit dough and pull each biscuit to about 6 inches long. Pretend you are pulling the King's nose. Melt butter in a small pan over low heat . Dip each biscuit in melted butter and then roll in sugar- nut mixture. Twist and place on baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
Wrap up the twists and head for our meeting place. I will supply Chocolate Martinis for one and all.
Thank you all for agreeing to this meeting. The King's latest attack upon religious liberty must be dealt with. Our Constitution guarantees the free exercise of religion. Clearly the King and his minions feel otherwise. Apparently, the King is ready and willing to bring us into an era of intolerance and interference in the religious sector of our society. By mandating that our religious institutions provide services that are contrary to the tenets of their religion, the King is venturing into territory where no King has gone before. He is trampling our Constitution and inserting the full power of the King's Court into things that are none of his business. He is forcing our religious institutions to betray the very foundations of their beliefs.
If we don't stop the King now this trend will escalate and the Castle will be controlling every aspect of our lives. ObamaCare must be repealed. It is becoming the root of all evil. The Castle should not be in charge of our healthcare. The Castle should not interfere with our religious institutions. ObamaCare gives the King and his Court control over one-sixth of our economy and that, my friends, is a very dangerous thing. The Castle must have their intrusive wings clipped now before it is too late. It is now or never....POP...
Hit the road King
And don't you come back, no more, no more
Hit the road King

Oh King, oh King
Don't you treat us so mean
You're the meanest King we've ever seen
Hit the road King and please don't come back no more, no more......

The king and his syncophants do not believe in the Constitution. They take every opportunity to go around it, trample it or just ignore it. They do what no one ever thought an administration would ever do. This is the year, boys and girls. Down with the king! A chocolate martini would taste very good now. INNKEEPER.............
Mother Jones says that this mandate was here all during the Bush years. So, why are we complaoning now? If that is true, then why dud Obama/Sibelius kick up a storm?
If it is in Obamacare, then, of course, that one unconstitutional element makes it null and void.
Here's the link at Mother Jones (Kevin Drum) http://m.motherjones.com/politics/2012/02/controve
BTW I'm no friend of Mother Jones
POP and Vrajavala:
With all due respect, the Mother Jones link is quite different from the Obamacare Mandate. Here's the difference: Under the Bush administration, if an employer provides drug coverage to their employees, they cannot exempt birth control pills. This is discrimination against women. Under Obamacare, the mandate is that you must provide birth control, etc. under the law, even if your religious beliefs are contrary. The first is to protect women against descrimination, and the second is making religious employers go against their belief system. They are very different.
When Obama is done with us, we will be a very different country. We cannot have four more years of this.
I'm off to the Inn. Save me a seat.....
BPOP - The lines are getting blurred concerning this issue and blurred intentionally might I add. The Dems are trying to turn this into a "woman's rights" issue which it isn't. Contraceptives and whatever they wish to purchase are now available for the asking. That's the smoke screen to cover Obama's agenda of walking all over the First Amendment.
Now, being the ideologue that he is, let the idiot dig his heels in once again. Just another nail in his coffin during the coming campaign. We need to move back to the adherence to our Constitution whether they like it or not.
See ya at the Inn. I'm buying.
The Frog
Very thought provoking subject. We all know Obama is a math wizard as proven by the calculations used on the unemployment numbers.
He would not be risking the vote of all those who find this latest mandate against their religious beliefs and teachings. With this move and the pipeline fiasco, it would appear he is giving away votes. Unless of course he feels comfortable that he has enough of the tree hugger's, illegals, muslim's, dead people's, and bought and paid for votes to fill the gap. He is far from stupid, so he has the numbers in mind on how he will get his way and still win the election. One day we will know what that is.
Dear Pino Krisio, thanks for clearing that up.
I was thinking that they previously used the 1964 Civil Rights Act to compel employers to provude "preventative" care.
How about the Civil Right if the unborn child?
I find it interesting that the liberals scream separation of church and state until it doesn't suit their nefarious purposes the crossing the line is just fine with them. mmmmmm chocolate............
I think it is crossing the line. If a business is about religion then, the business should be able to practice that religion. If the business is not about the religion but the business owner is religious, they should be able to practice their religion. Providing insurance is one thing but providing birth control. How is that an employers responsibility? And its not like its something an employee can't get without insurance. I would rather the king mandated things like eye glasses or dental care. Is there a mandate for something simple like that? Nope. Seems like this mandate is just a way for the government to get out of all of the preventive care they have involved themselves in for years.
I saw one liberal woman last night on TV declaring that we need an amendment to get rid of the freedom of religion clause, so Congress can regulate churches.
America is crumbling.
This is the thing Pop - there are SO many things this President and his administration should be arrested for no less impeached - so where are the lilly livered Republicans? Oh that's right - they're calling for ANOTHER investigation! Let's see, where has that gotten us????
I'm DISGUSTED and if something isn't done soon I'm giving up on the whole lot of them and I'm just going to stockpile for the upcoming Apocalypse...seriously - well - half seriously anyway...
Voted up, I wish there was a relevant button - and all the way across Pop!!
You can take away one nation from God, but God will still be there for the remnant. Birth control, is just that, control of births, it is as separate from health care as they(government/liberals) claim church and state should be.
I feel my civil rights, as a follower of God's commandments and of knowing right from wrong, in jeopardy of violation.
The free abortion scenario creates an atmosphere of nihilism, rampant sexuality, and immorality.
Again, I think that since the Constitution guarantees the right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, the unborn fetus must be protected.
So many wxamoles in history of bastard geniuses,i. e, Leonardo
I agree with cjv123. This bum of a president has done a hundred impeachable things in my opinion. Republicans are hesitant, however, because they keep in mind that what you do unto others (dems) will be done unto you (repubs) your next turn in office. This is the one thing about Republicans I have always hated. Their inability to get down and dirty when it is necessary. Screw taking the high road. Sometimes you have to fight with your verbal fists, much like I do. I will save my fists, non-verbal, for after November 2012, should this boob stay in office because I see nothing good will come of that.
Now I hear that the King is going to speak this morning on this topic. Will he be providing waivers? Sure, it will resolve this issue for the moment, but only for the moment. And honestly, I fear what this whole issue will do is get CAIR on its high horse in furtherance of its Sharia law in our country. By that I mean if the Whitehouse "waives" this issue for the Catholic uni's and such, it will give muslims the impression that there is a open door and a forum to discuss their religious tenets as well.
Great hub as usual POP. Good morning and good day!
Oh, and I voted you every which way but down!
Little Sister With Giant Brain and great breakfast,
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. This is so politically stupid for the president that I'm suspicious. Let's hope he doesn't back off. We can use it at the voting booth.
bro
"politically stupid"? This is the guy who voted gour times against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (BAIPA), which meant that if an abortion was botched and the baby was still breathing, you were supposed to leave the baby in the closet and let it die of starvation.

Pop -- seems to me this idiot instigates dumb stuff so he can back off a little at some point and appear "more informed and understanding" -- and garner more votes. I think we're going to see more of this same sort of stuff as this election accelerates (not that he wasn't gung-ho from the git-go it just seems he's amped up his "benevolence" all of a sudden.) Great Hub! Best/Sis
LSWGB,
That came on Fox about 2 minutes after I hit the poat button. How cool. Under this modification the costs of this thing simply vanish! Our president is a magician!
bro
Wow! All these comments and votes and you have a score of 45? Must be the hub police on the move.
The Frog
Yeah, he must have been thinking that abortion kits are distributed to teenage girls , like they are On whatever planet he comes from.
Everything is free, bp, under Obama's watch. You just have to know how to play the entitlement game: free food stamps, free healthcare via hospital emergency rooms, and free aid to families with dependent children as long as they continue to procreate and the daddy does not reside at home.
drbj - Don't forget those free cell phones with the bills paid. LMAO
TFP
The King has backed off his original plan and offered a modified approach saying that he will decree the insurance companies to provide such services. The sleight of hand here is the King is on unconstitutional ground on the first point because he does not have that power over religious freedom yet he is willing to concede to the second point if he can get it in relief when in actuality, he does not posses the power to make the insurance companies provide those services either. It is just like him attempting to tell Wal-Mart that they can only sell pink garden hoses by president decree...ain't happening and if the right side of the aisle is on its toes, they'll take either issue all the way up the court system to prove it. WB
The King has served his time, needs to stop waving his little wand and step down so that the Kingdom can be rebuilt. The latest move on contraception is overstepping boundaries. How many kingdoms does he plan to invade? Let's all see if this humpty-dumpty will fall from the wall. Love your hub humor written with great wit and truth! Voted up-up-up!
Wow...I can imagine how delicious "cinnamon twists". It looks delicious as well and Obamacare is new for me. Thanks for share with us. Rated up!
Blessing,
I'm sooooooo frustrated! Ya think things can't possibly get any worse - then they do. The "B.O. man" (get it? body odor for anyone who doesn;t) is an idiot. There...I said it and I'm not apologizing. Thank goodness, you have given us some tasty cinnamon twists to replace the bad taste in our little mouths.

Pop,
Is he King or just another mean, old, fairy tale ogre? What does he have planned for his second term? Food care for all with the Muslims forced to distribute pork chops? Oh the inhumanity!!!!!!!!!!
