Eggnog Coffee and a Lesson in Fairness

Good morning breakfastpoppers. Today is Wednesday, December 7, 2011. President Obama travelled to a small town in Kansas ala Teddy Roosevelt to give a speech about "economic fairness". Professor Stopthebull is holding forth in class this morning to discuss this very thing. Let's prepare some Eggnog Coffee for our thermos and then head to class.

You will need a 20 ounce cup of coffee, 3 ounces of eggnog, sugar and a little cinnamon. Brew your favorite coffee, unflavored of course, and add as much eggnog as you like instead of milk or cream. Add sugar and sprinkle with cinnamon and you are all set. See you in class. Bring a pad and pencil.

Good morning students and welcome to Economic Fairness 101. What is Economic Fairness? It's another catch phrase for re-distribution of wealth which is another catch phrase for socialism. Don't let anyone, like the president, try to tell you otherwise. It is what it is.

President Obama thought it was a great idea to travel to the very same place as Pres. Teddy Roosevelt did and to use many of Roosevelt's phrases in his speech. He also invoked the concept of "fairness" so many times that I started to lapse into a coma. In any case, here we go again, boys and girls. President Obama is determined to continue the class warfare sagas. I think he got a lot of his ideas for this speech from that distinguished band of Occupiers who have contibuted so little to our national dialogue.

Nevertheless when he speaks he is speaking to the choir. Those folks sleeping in tents because they enjoy that sort of "closeness" have the president's ear. They are his people. He wants our nation to know that the Republicans are the enemy. He wants us to know that the evil rich people are our enemy. He wants us all to know that those of us who get up and go to work each day have to pay for those of us who would rather stay in bed. I do not want to do that. Do you want to do that?

President Obama talks a lot about people paying their "fair" share. When 50 percent of the population pays taxes and the other 50 percent pays no taxes, is that fair? Of course not, but this president would rather we all stop thinking about that particular fact. He wants the "rich" the definition of which varies according to his audience to pay more. He wants to take more money from the hard working achievers and give it to those not as ambitious.

Of course, we already do that in the form of welfare and we all know what an uplifting successful program that has been. Let's take a look at socialism. It doesn't work. It destroys initiative, invention and creativity. It is prescription for a dying nation.

If President Obama and his party really wanted to be "fair' they would stop playing games and give business the incentive to grow and hire. If President Obama and the Democrats really wanted to help the middle class and the poor they would eliminate all those regulations that are job killers and stop vilifying the job creators.

If, on the other hand, President Obama and the Democrats like the idea of socialism, they will continue doing exactly what they are doing and our nation will die a slow painful death. Everyone will end up in the bottom 50 percent. The playing field will have been leveled and we will all be mediocre, poor, uninspired, lazy and equal. Don't expect President Obama and his pals to be among the crowd. They will be at the top deciding our fate and giving us our daily dose of crumby bread.

If this is the kind of country you want to live in, I pray it turns out that you came to the wrong place. I want my America back. If you feel the same way, stay alert and fight for our country like you have never fought before. The stakes are that high. These are critical times. We cannot let "them" win. Class Dismissed...POP...
