Good Morning Wrap and The Election

Roll Up Your Sleeves

Good morning breakfastpoppers. Today is Wednesday, November 3, 2010. The balloons are popped, the lights are out and the votes are in. The people have spoken and their message is clear. Change direction, Mr. President, change our current course because as Americans we are unhappy with your decisions and we insist on being part of the solution to our country's problems. The people have spoken and they resoundingly rejected your policies and your methods. It's time to take a good hard look in the mirror and decide if you have what it takes to abandon your love of big government and your embrace of class warfare. We have changed the balance of power in the House and we have rejected you. What you do with this message is of course up to you and your conscience. You have the power of the veto and you are free to use it, but remember the people have spoken loud and clear.

Before we go on let's whip up some breakfast. and then talk some more. Today we will be preparing a Good Morning Wrap. You will need 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, 1 tablespoon granola, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 banana and 1 tortilla. Mix cottage cheese, brown sugar, honey and granola. Spread on the tortilla and add a vertically sliced banana on top. Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll up. Sit back and enjoy your tortilla. I have a few more thoughts I'd like to share.

Now that the votes have been counted it's time to immediately resolve to change the election process in this country. We have to start at once so that we are prepared for 2012. We need a uniform system that does not vary from state to state. Washington is an entirely write in state. There is way too much room for fraud and their method is unacceptable. All accusations of fraud, and there are many, have to be investigated and those responsible must be held accountable. Our disenfranchised military must never have to face the risk of being shut out of the election. Again an investigation of who is responsible for this travesty must start immediately. Every single person who wishes to cast a vote must have to provide identification and proof of citizenship. We have the technology to insure that people are not voting more than once. We have the technology to insure that dead people and fake people are not registered. Let's start using our resources and stop this garbage once and for all.

Now comes the great challenge. Congress must work with the White House and the White House must move to the center and reach out to Congress. We have to find ways to grow this economy and put people back to work. Taxing people to death and punishing them for succeeding is not the answer. We must cut spending, ear marks and idiotic hand-outs that waste money and accomplish nothing. The unions must take a back seat in this country and stop trying to influence and initiate policy. The people have spoken and like it or not President Obama is going to have to listen. I hope we can put an end to cap and trade, card check, the inheritance tax, and massive spending.  I believe the Bush tax cuts must be extended for everyone. I hope we can repeal the health care bill and write something that makes sense and represents what the American people want. I hope that President Obama chooses cooperation over veto.

Only time will tell, but at least we can say that all of our voices made a difference. At least we can say that we, the people, changed the course of history. We must not let down our vigilance for once second. When those that represent us know they are being watched the outcome is always better. Power to the people, let freedom ring...POP...

Pop,

I think repeal of Health Care is questionable during the Kings reign but all appropriations bills start in the House and it's overwhelmingly Republican so we can defund it. Also I have my first Republican Congressman since 1968 and if Obama and Biden buy the farm at the same time the presidential succession will go to speaker Boener and not to The Baroness of Botox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also the fillabuster is in place in the Senate!!!!!!!!!!

All in all I'm satisfied with a good start so meet me at the bar and I'm buying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am surprised that things went as smoothly as they did I really expected it to go a lot worse. I agree that something needs to be done to fix the election problems we face. I was listening to Mark Levin last night waiting for election coverage to begin and a gentleman called up he said that his son along with other military personnel were set up to do maneuvers, and were unable to vote. That is wholly unacceptable, no one should be prevented from voting, especially our military men and women.

Dear nicomp,

I understand that, but it leaves the door open to so much fraud. Our vote is our voice and we should protect its integrity at all costs. See you at the bar and we'll talk some more.

Yet balance of power is sweet as no one can steam roll the other! the system is how it should be "balanced", 50

Good morning American Romance,

I wouldn't worry too much, I can't imagine Obama cooperating on anything. Having said that the Reps. should try to open a dialogue because it was the Dems tactic to shut them out completely. They need to come up with solutions and try to get it done. Of course, Obama has the last word, doesn't he. I'm not surprised about California. It's all the dope they smoke and Nevada had a lot of goons calling the shots. Besides Angle wasn't a great opponent in my opinion. See you at the bar, it is time to celebrate and I am buying drinks and food.

Pop,

I am fully satisfied just knowing that Pelosi will be FORCED to sit down and SHUT UP!! Perhaps SHE should be going to the back seat instead of the repubs! I am disappointed that Manchin beat Raese here in WV, but at least for these first 2 years, Manchin will damn well be one of the MOST conservative dems up there. If he hopes to win again in 2012, he KNOWS what he must do.

Frankly, I find it quite disturbing that you are NOT required to produce a photo id in order to vote. Think of all the things that DO require an id and most of those are not nearly so important as a vote.

Dear Sheri,

The next 2 years should prove to be very interesting. Our guard has to remain up, up up. It is incredible that no ID is required in many states. In my district all I did was say my name, no proof required and sign. Registration is shoddy and not kept up to date. I know someone who is registered in three different districts and no matter how many times she tells them to take her off the rolls in two of the districts, her name remains. It's deplorable. But let's try to fix this mess and look forward to the end of destruction! See you at the bar.

Unfortunately this when guy looks in the mirror he says to himself; Allah please give me the strength to deal with such a collection of idiots that they do not realize just how wonderful I am and how fantastic my benevolent policies are; after all I am allowing them to keep some of their money instead of paying 100% tribute to me!

As for people speaking loud and clear; he simply puts both hands tightly over his ears and yells out La-La-La- I can’t hear you; LLLLLLAAAAAAAAA LLLLAAAAAAAA LLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAA I CAN’T HEAR YOU!!!!!!!!!.

Pop; fraud is the Latin Root Word for Democrat. They would just as soon write tort reform into the Obamination known as Obama Care as eradicate Fraud from the election process; without fraud there would never be another democRAT elected anywhere again!

Pop, Pop, Pop what are you saying; every single person who wishes to cast a vote must have to provide identification and proof of citizenship,” that is synonymous with the Democrats telling organized labor to go away or telling the Congressional Black Caucus they intend to push for welfare reform!

Ok Pop here’s where we part ways; Congress must work with the White House and the White House must move to the center and reach out to Congress. Sorry but that “ain’t gonna happen!” For Congress to work with the White House means Republicans we know you wanna be liked and the public will love you because my Press will praise you if you cave in and cooperate with me. You have just put forth a great revolution and frankly it scared the hell outta me but that’s over now and time to get back to business. We’ll spin this as Republicans being the party of NO if you don’t cave in and give me what I want. As for me moving to the center; ARE YOU OUTTA YOUR MIND; I’M A LEFTY AND A LEFTY I WILL STAY!

One if by land and two if by sea

But Barrackie Boo will never agree

So pack up your flags the day is done

As America sinks behind the crescent sun!

And Colorado, big disappointment here.

But overall, we should be cautiously elated, and then, let's get down to business in January. I will be very interested to hear (for once) what Obama has to say today. What he says today will set the tone for future communications between him and congress so for once, I will actually watch him.

I hope this is the beginning of the kind of change the American people really want. Ultimately, we need Obama out of the White House to really change things in the best in the best interests of our nation.

Springboard profile image

Springboard Level 5 Commenter 18 months ago

The first step has been rendered. The American people have spoken loud and clear. Sure, a few of the former bozos (like Reid) are still in their jobs. But they won't have near the power they did. Their ability to outmanueauver the consensus of the American people is no more. The sad part is I'm not so sure Obama has it in him to get as close to the center as he needs to in order to get any real work done. And because he seems to take so many things personally, I think he might work against the Congress simply because they are the republicans and they were victorious. He'll just put his nose a little higher into the air, and spit back in the face of the American people as he has done since the day he stepped into the White House.

The reality is, IMO, that the real path toward progress comes post-Obama.

breakfastpop profile image

breakfastpop Hub Author 18 months ago

Good morning Minnetonka Twin,

We have a chance now to repeal or defund healthcare and start fresh. We must extend the tax cuts for all and we must bury once and for all l talk of cap and trade. The list goes on and on and all of this won't be easy. Obama has the veto and the power of introducing regulations which are laws that don't require the involvement of Congress. In any case, it is still a welcome victory.

I like the idea of stopping voter fraud before it happens. Following the old maxim 'an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure', I'd expect the cost of a fraud-preventive system would be less cost to the taxpayer than investigating fraud, and far less expensive to the taxpayer than allowing our system to be run by those who can only reach office through fraud.
