Honey Bun Cake and Purgatory
64Injustice!
Good morning breakfastpoppers. Today is Monday, December 5, 2011. The brave men who went before Congress to testify about the ugly details of a government program that armed Mexico's drug cartels with assault rifles are paying a very heavy price for being truthful. Before we get into the nitty gritty of the matter let's prepare some breakfast.
This morning we will be baking a Honey Bun Cake. You will need 1 box of yellow cake mix, 4 large eggs, 3/4 cup cooking oil, 2/3 cup water, 1 cup sour cream, 1 cup brown sugar and 3 teaspoons cinnamon. For the glaze you will need 4 tablespoons of milk, 2 cups confectioner's sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Combine the cake mix with eggs, oil, water and sour cream. In a separate bowl mix brown sugar and cinnamon together. Pour half of the cake batter into a greased 9 x13 cake pan. Sprinkle half of the sugar mixture on top and swirl it in. Pour the rest of the batter on top and sprinkle the rest of the sugar mixture and swirl again. Bake in a 325 degree oven for 40-45 minutes. While the cake is baking prepare the topping. Mix together 4 tablespoons milk, 2 cups confectioner's sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. When the cake is done pour the topping over the hot cake and enjoy. An Irish Coffee would be a fine addition to breakfast. Sit back and try to relax. I feel a letter coming on.
To President Obama, Sen. Charles Grassley and Rep. Darrell Issa,
If we take a look at what has occurred since Operation Fast and Furious was exposed the picture is not a pretty one. Mr. President, although your administration originally denied the existence of this program, you eventually admitted that it was a mistake and that those responsible would be held accountable. It appears now that those who managed this ill conceived program were, in fact, rewarded for screwing up. They were reassigned or promoted with their pensions and future in fine shape.
The same cannot be said of the "whistleblowers'" who are being subjected to isolation, retaliation and transfer to boring jobs that have wrecked their reputations, careers and families. Mr. President, Sen. Grassley and Rep. Issa, I have to ask each of you why you allowed this to happen. These men who alerted you to this hideous operation did so at great personal risk to themselves and their families. They should have been rewarded for their integrity and honesty, but instead they are being punished. If you want to encourage people to step up to the plate and report wrongdoing, you must insure the fact that they will be protected. They should be rewarded for their honesty and courage. In my view, those people at the ATF responsible for marginalizing these men should be held accountable and made to pay for their behavior along with the guys at the top who conceived of Fast and Furious in the first place.
Sen. Grassley and Rep. Issa, your job in this fiasco is far from over. You must, in good conscious follow up on what has happened to the truth tellers and you must move to rectify every injustice heaped upon them. If you don't then I think someone should turn the tables on you for encouraging these men to step forward. You should be held accountable for what has happened to them after testifying to the same extent as the people at ATF who are directly responsible for the retaliation.
Your work has just begun. Roll up your sleeves and get to work. People's lives depend upon it...POP...

Pop,
I agree with your assessment completely but unfortunately the Federal government has a long history of not punishing those responsible for atrocities. The last I heard the perpetrators of the Tuskegee fiasco were never punished.
POP: This is government at its finest. Disgraceful!
Rep. Issa did his job, asked the hard questions, etc., and dropped the ball. He needs to finish the job! The people who came forward are heros.
POP: After all the comments are made today, I strongly urge you to forward this to Rep. Issa, and Sen. Grassley.
Now, I'm off to the bar. Save me a seat....
A regular Bay of Pigs type incident for our Administration or, rather, Gulf of Rifles. What next?
More cake, please - delicious!
POP: The bar is always open.
Those of us who live in Arizona were on to the motives behind this as soon as we heard about it, and sure enough, while all this is going on, the anti-gun crowd in DC are calling for registration of certain guns sold in border states, citing Fast and Furious!
This is another in an ongoing series of attempts by the liberal left and their attack dog, the ATF, to undermine the right to keep and bear arms. The ATF and Holder's Justice Department are clearly the culprits here, but the left is blaming the border state gun dealers and gun owners who did nothing wrong!
Eric Holder and his ilk are loose cannons with an abundance of government power all focused on circumventing and undermining the Constitution. Holder gets his hands dirty so that Obama will not have to claim complicity. Absolutely the most disgusting Administration in the history of this country bar none. WB
pop,
This is the first time i've heard this event about the arms to Mexico. I have often wondered why we Americans could not control the arms movement, and the idea that our political superiors can not do something about it and the drug traffic. Our governmental system could use a good clean up and earn their pay checks (without bonuses or full retirement benifits after serving a few years). The more I look, the more I can't help thinking that our political leaders (reguardless of party) where aiming at being a part of the top ONE PERSENT of wealthy!? Grover Norquist and Alec Corp. are not alone in this mess. My next vote will be based on honesty and integrity, hard to get from either side these days.
Ronnie
pop,
Its good to feel like I'm not a loner!

It is hard to believe, bp, that any leader with even as little as one ounce of good sense could countenance such a disaster as this Fast and Furious project. Must be using rocks for brains. Oh, wait a minute. rocks have more sense.
This hub is right on target. There has been lying under oath and I would like to see Holder go down. Rep. Issa was on Fox yesterday and talked like they were no where near the end of this investigation. Of course, the liberal media is mum, as always.

Those who created and put fast and furious in place should be fired and be brought to trial. Number one on that list is the attorney-general and his boss. Simple. To the bar. BARTENDER............
