Italian Egg Bake and the Minority Speaker

Arrogance

Good morning breakfastpoppers. Today is Wednesday, November 2, 2011. School is open and the class today is being taught by an individual who thinks the government has gone too far. I'd love to see you all attend, so let's prepare an Italian Egg Bake and head for class.

For 6 servings you will need 1 pound bulk sausage, 4 cups frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed, 1 cup frozen cut leaf spinach, thawed and drained, 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup sliced marinated sun-dried tomatoes, 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, 4 eggs, 3/4 cup milk, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon pepper and 2 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese.

Heat your oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8 inch square baking dish. In a large non-stick skillet, cook sausage over med-high heat until browned. Drain.

In a medium bowl, combine potatoes and Cheddar cheese. In baking dish layer half the potato mixture, all of the sausage, spinach and tomatoes, remaining potato mixture and all of the mozzarella cheese.

In yet another bowl, beat eggs slightly. Add milk, salt and pepper and beat well. Pour over potato mixture. Cover with foil.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Uncover and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand for about 5 minutes. Cut into squares. Wrap up the squares and fill your thermos with a Bloody Mary. School is in session.

Good morning class. I am of the belief that government should keep their sticky, meddlesome hands out of our business. If you didn't sign up for this course, please feel free to leave now. Fascism 101 is in the next classroom.

A perfect example of what I am talking about exhibits itself quite nicely in an interview House Minority Speaker Nancy Pelosi had with CNBC last week. Speaker Pelosi was asked if an agency such as the National Labor Relations Board should have the authority to shut down a private sector plant, such as Boeing, for not being unionized. Ms. Pelosi hesitated not a second and her answer was a resounding "yes".

Just the other day, President Obama gave Ms. Pelosi a giant pat on the back. The president believes that she was the greatest Speaker of the House to ever serve this nation. The greatest Speaker that ever served this country said that Boeing should either unionize its production facilities in South Carolina or shut them down. There was not a moment of hesitation in her reply. Perhaps the Speaker should have been reminded that government should have no say whatsoever in whether a plant is unionized or not. Perhaps she should have been reminded that the workers in this plant voted overwhelmingly to decertify their union two years ago. Perhaps she should have been reminded that these workers have every right to determine whether or not they want union representation. Perhaps she should have been reminded that government should have no authority over these people. Lastly, just for the fun of it, perhaps Ms. Pelosi should have been asked why she has no union employees in any of her businesses.

Last of all Madame Speaker should have been reminded that this is the United States of America and that, we the people, will not sit idly by and watch our freedoms being eroded by arrogant agencies like the NLRB. CLASS DISMISSED...POP...

She should be asked why shw only voted about 285 times out of some 3,700 or so votes taken shile she was speaker of the house? She is a s$%^. BARTENDER..........

Pop,

That a Federal Government leader should answer the question on unionization as Ms Pelosi did is frightening. These people could not have grown up in the same country I did.

The description of the Egg Bake made me very hungry. Sounds great!!!

Good morning taxlarry,

You can't vote when you are on a plane supplied by the taxpayers. See you at the Inn. Do you have any more of that beef jerky that tastes light fake elk turkey?

Good morning Tom,

The Egg Bake is delicious and the Speaker is atrocious. Clearly, she is looking forward to living in a country patterned after Cuba! See you at the inn.

POP- Several examples here of one dog throwing another dog a bone. Thinking of Bones makes me hungry for the Ribs they serve at the inn and when I'm hungry I'm thirsty so I'm heading for the Inn now since I'm on vacation for a week. I'm buying, Beer and Bones for Everyone!

Dear Hmr,

Forget Nancy, let's go for the ribs. I'll bring some too. I have a great recipe. See you later and enjoy your well-earned vacation.

POP: Nancy might still be "flying", or at least I think so when she answers such questions. MSNBC doesn't know how to ask the proper follow up question, which should have been "why is it that your companies don't employ union people?" I would have loved to hear that answer.

Ribs and Beer sounds great. - I'm on my way - save me a seat....

Great, up and awesome. But you should have also included

Dear bp -

Nancy may speak fancy, whatever the occasion.

But beware, she's not all there, her brain is on vacation.

Dear Pino,

Haven't you heard? Nancy doesn't have to answer any questions she finds objectionable. See you at the Inn. It's ribs and beer and Nancy is not allowed to come!

Dear American View,

You're right, let's hope that eventually happens! See you at the Inn. It's ribs and beer night.

Dear drbj,

And all along I thought that vacant look in her eye was due to Botox overload. Thanks for the heads up. See you at the Inn.

Those of us who grew up back when sanity ruled, are appalled at the outrageous left wing lunacy of today's politicians, and even more so, the ready acceptance of that lunacy by so many citizens.

Hi Pop! I echo the comments left by WillStarr! Great lesson!

And don't you wonder why there hasn't been even one so-called journalist asking her employees why they don't have a union? And why hasn't a union targeted her businesses for unionization? And since that plant rejected a union, then she's saying those employees should be forced to pay union dues whether they want to or not. Best speaker ever - sure - if this was North Korea.

Egg bake sounds good. I brought eggs and breakfast sausage to my boyfriends for tomorrow.

I think Breakfastpops that YOU should interview Ms. Pelosi and asking her these questions that you have put forth to us....I'd Love to hear her Reply...She'd probably get NERVOUS and start to Bat her Eyes.

I remember when Reagan told the UNION Airport Controllers (when they decided to Strike) "Get Back to work, or you will be Fired"...Those were the days of a Great President.

Good morning Will,

Nancy Pelosi is a phony. She just looks at the sound bites for an issue and then shoots her mouth off.

Good morning Dex,

Thanks Dex, but I fear that this is a lesson Nancy and many others will never learn.

Good morning b,. Malin,

What drives me crazy when I see interviews is that the interviewer rarely gets the question answered but moves on to the next question anyway. Clearly, no one is listening to the other.

BP - you had me all hooked with this wonderful ingredient blend, and just when I was thinking I might be hungry .... you had to go and mention Pelosi.

GAK!!!

Maybe I'll give the Egg Bake a try.

In a few days.

When I recover.

As always ... great hub and right on target. ;)

Dear femme,

Bless you and remember, take a bite of breakfast, read one line, take a bite of breakfast read another line. I think you'll be fine.
