Meat Lovers Quiche and a Letter
71To whom it may concern...
Good morning breakfastpoppers. Today is Monday, July 12, 2010 and I think it is a fine day for some letter writing. Before I set pencil to paper, let's prepare a delicious quiche that will delight all the meat enthusiasts among us. You will need 1 pound of ground sausage, 10 strips of bacon, 1 small chopped onion, 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper, 2/3 cup milk, 4 large eggs, 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper and 1 ready to fill pie crust. Form sausage balls and bring large pot of water to a boil. Drop in the sausage and reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Drain and reserve. Cut bacon into 2 inch squares and fry until crisp. Drain. Saute peppers and onion and drain. Beat eggs with cream and milk. Add salt and pepper. Place half the cheese in bottom of pie shell and cover with bacon, onions and peppers. Layer sausage balls next. Now sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top. Gently pour egg mixture into shell over meat and cheese. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Enjoy!
To the President of the United States, Congress and all those both in and out of the administration who refuse to see, or who are pleased, with the inherent danger that our country is in:
I am writing to all of you today to bring into focus the angst that so many Americans are experiencing in your hands. Mr. President, may I say that your vision for America is at complete odds with the vision of our Founding Fathers. You have personally trampled on the very foundations that have built this magnificent country. You have in the 18 months that you have been in office reduced the Constitution to an outdated piece of paper. The majority of Americans are appalled by your disdain and indifference to our roots, our belief system and the dreams we have for our children. It is very clear that you, along with many in Congress, wish to concentrate all meaningful power in the hands of the Federal Government. Under your leadership the government has grown to dangerous levels and it is clear that this is just the beginning. You and your allies have attacked capitalism and have set the stage for its premature demise. You have assumed control of once private sectors of our society in the name of safety and concern when all of this is nothing more than an ugly power grab. The people are watching and we find your actions contrary to the best interests of the United States.
Congress is to blame for much of the wrong that has been done, as well. The Democrats have clearly been lying in wait to take control of our lives without regard to the wishes of the people. You are a blood thirsty lot of power mad bureaucrats who don't give a fig for the Constitution, the nation or its people. We put you in power and in return you betrayed us. You voted for unpopular and flawed legislation in the dead of night, behind closed doors. You behaved with reckless abandon and have failed to perform the duties that you were entrusted with. You too have put this nation at risk and we are watching. You have turned your back on our great nation and its people and its time for you to go.
To all those people out there both in and out of government who either don't see the danger we are in or who delight in it, I say, we are watching. If you are in the media you have betrayed your calling and it is time for you to go. If you are the average American citizen caught up in the daily grind, it is time for you to wake up and become part of the effort to turn our country around. If you are part of the public that likes the idea of a massive government takeover of our lives, I say to you, we are watching. Read the Constitution and live it or go elsewhere.
To the President, Congress and all those who approve of this appalling "transformation" of America I say, we are watching and we will not let you succeed. We will go to the polls and vote each and every one of you out and then we will do our best to undo the damage you have caused. That is our right and our duty and we are most definitely up to the task.
Start packing...POP...
Couldn't have said it better myself! I'm up for the challenge and fight, BPop!
You have nailed it! There is nothing I care to add except that you should send the letter to Obumma, to some of our dear friends in congress, to the white house chief of staff, Ballet Boy Emanuel, and Gibbs plus all the media people. They deserve it. They probbly won't understand it but they deserve it. To the bar. BARTENDER.......................
POP: I read in today's letters to the editor in my newspaper that the first thing the republicans should do when they take over the house is to impeach the president for ignoring our constitution, which he was sworn to uphold. It think that would be fitting. Your letter should be sent to all newspaper Editors - maybe they will print it; maybe not; but we must try.
I need to get an early start to the bar today. Save me a seat....

Amen BPop ! The mainstream media is just as guilty as any of the people in DC. While we are being hoodwinked by those in power the media focuses on Lebron and Lindsay Lohan ! And completely ignores any story of Importance to the people. I am feeling very let down by all sides concerned !
Bravo! Well stated hub. Fight, fight, fight....Be will not go down without a fight.
Pop, time is moving on and soon it will be time to go to the polls. You have pushed the agenda all true Americans need to start pushing. This election is going to be the most important election in history. I know it's been said before and I hope it is not taken as "crying wolf". This election will prove that there are a majority that want our Republic, or the nation has been duped into believing they are actually gaining something for nothing and it will be pure suicide as the Constitution collapses and the country falls to a third world country. People need to understand after this there is no other place in the world to go! We are the end of the line, 50
to the bar!!!
You called them power mad, and I agree with you. This isn't an ideology based on 'doing best for the people', it's meant to create a world of two classes, the rich and the poor. They all want to be Mao.
Again it just drags on with no happy ending in sight - 50 is right the elections are nigh - this will give you idea of what is more important Lindsay Lohans Cocaine problem or America;s future - lets hop.
Well Pop, it appears you have woken in fine vigor this morning. The challenge you issue to those filled with apathy is valid and compelling, however this standard should also be taken up by those of us that recognize the dangers.
We all need to employ more than just the vote, we must task our voices and our pens and dash political correctness on the rocks of indifference, shouting loudly to all within range these transgressions against our Republic until the ignorant, the deceived and the uncaring actually comprehend what these “people” are doing to our nation.
I've got a couple of old American Touristers in the closet...perhaps I should send to the democratic caucus? :) Well said, spot on, and scary as hell if we CAN'T stop it.
Morning POP...This rousing call to ACTION should sound throughout the land...Ring the Liberty Bell, sound the alarm, and follow Todd Beamer's call to action; LET'S ROLL !!!
Where are the Republicans..? Are they going to wait until October before shouting down this president's devastating policies..? Sarah Palin appears the only consistent conservative voice out there telling it like it is...
I remember 1996 and the Contract with America, so well articulated by then Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich...A clear, unequivocal, and persistent drumbeat of core conservative values held up against a failed liberal agenda...
Have the Republicans forgotten what happened in 2004..? I'm not seeing a lot of enthusiasm at the national level...Has complacency set in already..? A few, Issa, Bachman, and Ryan and that's about it...No senator has consistently challenged Obama policies, appointments, or executive orders with passion and unambiguous articulation...Are they all deaf to the rising wrath of the American people..?
To paraphrase King Henry the Second, Who will rid me of these smug, uncaring, and self-aggrandizing leeches sucking the blood out of our Constitution, our Nation, and yes, our children...I'm buying Stoly martys and giving all my olives to POP for her clarion call to action...Larry
To use a MUCH overused term - YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!! And as always, the comments to your Hub are jewels as well!
You speak what's on my mind with the passion and anger I feel! And like you I wonder WHERE ARE THE REPUBLICANS? Why are they just rolling over with this latest leftest nomination to the Supreme Court for example?! What a nightmare that I hope we can start to wake up from this coming November!
Thanks for writing what so many of us are thinking and feeling in our hearts! Love, carol
Running well Pop and although a little late in the evening I applaud your hub. It says so much.
My dear Pop, you are my hero and I would vote for you so get ready to run, yes you. Your ideals your passions your repect for Americans and love for your country surpasses all others, we will support you. Next time, PEOPLE, learn about who you are voting for? Learn, study and examine every detail of any person that WANTS to work to represent you. Pop, I love you...great hub
POP - another great volley! Your words are the sword, arrows, bullets and shield of our Republic! Like the 20th Maine at Little Round Top we face assault after assault on our constitution by those who would destroy it. They will keep coming until November when we must be prepared to fix bayonets and charge forward with our votes!
I will leave you with another line from Henry V, it is the last line spoken before the Battle of Agincourt, (a battle fought in the fall of the year by the way) Spoken by Henry "Take it, brave York. Now, soldiers, march away:
And how thou pleasest, God, dispose the day!"
The promised "transparency" is a bad joke. Just like you said Pop, everything has been done in the darkness of the night and the darkness of the Congress's corridors.
Time to turn on the light again
They'd better pack, and commandeer a fleet of Greyhound buses with some of that stimulus money, they'll need them for the human clean out of every single bloated federal agency out there.
Particularly great breakfast advice.......
Poppy...I have been away a few days and missed your works...I definitely endorse this letter...sign me at the bottom! We had better take things back real soon or the means of doing so may disappear along with our history. WB
Good hub, I give it a 9.998 out of 10. I am solidly behind taxlarry. We need to give Obamma a huge shout out!
Hey Pop...i must admit when I get through the recipe, I quit reading. But what a unique combination you have going on here--and popular as well. Kudos!
