Orange French Toast and a Question
61What Do You Want?
Good morning breakfastpoppers. Today is Monday, October 17, 2011. The Occupy Wall Street protests are still growing strong and according to the MSM spreading. Trust me when I tell you that I would like to stop writing about this. I want to, but I can't, so I ask you to bear with me at least one more time. Before I get to the heart of the matter let's prepare some delicious Orange French Toast. The following ingredients are enough to make 4 servings. You will need 8 thick slices of day old French bread, 2 large, beaten eggs, 3/4 cup milk, 1 tablespoon honey, 1/2 cup orange juice, 1 teaspoon cornstarch, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/8 teaspoon orange zest and powdered sugar for dusting.
Preheat your oven to 450 degrees. Prepare a large baking pan with cooking spray. In a large mixing bowl, combine, eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. Soak bread and place in baking dish. Bake for 6 minutes or until lightly browned. Turn over the slices and bake for 7 minutes more or until golden brown.
While your bread is baking take a small saucepan and combine orange juice, orange zest, honey and cornstarch. Cook over med-high heat stirring often until syrup thickens. Remove from heat. Remove toast from oven and dust with sugar. Serve with your syrup and enjoy.
I have a question for all the Wall Street protesters, the pundits who adore them, and the biased media who report things the way "They" see them rather then the way they unfold.
What do you want? You have been protesting for over a month now, costing the good people of New York City $80,000 a day. For people so concerned about the "average" guy, does it seem fair to cost the taxpayer so much money? Are you at all disturbed by the fact that the city may not be able to graduate and hire new policemen because of your excess? How does this fact align with your belief that the "big evil" corporations and the greedy people on Wall Street are hogging all the wealth. You are blowing through New York City's coffers like crazed moguls on a spree, but yet you don't see the irony in any of this. Why?
If you really want to stick it to the corporations that employ so many people including, possibly, your own parents, why not rise to the occasion and live your beliefs. Take off those Levis, and those sneakers. Throw your phones in the trash along with your I-pods and I-pads. Walk the walk. If you despise corporate America stop using and enjoying their products. The hell with the people who work for these corporations. Forget the fact that these greedy evil companies paid their workers, matched their 401ks, provided health insurance for their families (maybe yours) and gave most people a pretty good standard of living if they were willing to work for it.
I am asking you again, what do you want? Do you want to shut sown the stock market. I suggest that before you demand this too loudly you call home and tell Mom and Dad that their 401K is about to disappear. Oh wait, you can't call home because you need to get rid of your cell phone. Okay then, run home and let them know. If you pass any retirees along the way let them know that their pensions that are invested in the stock market you so despise will probably disappear too. I am quite sure that you have knowingly or unwittingly made friends with some union people. Tell them that they can kiss their pensions good-bye as well. By the way, perhaps you might want to point out to them and to yourself that the unions have played an enormous role in bringing down our economy. They give new meaning to the word "greed". Perhaps while you are lazing around the park, you might want to give that some thought.
One other thing. Your protests are really not all that peaceful are they? Your accomplices in the MSM have made a habit of not reporting things they don't think will sit well with the public at large. Need an example? Okay, how about all the racist rhetoric flying around your group directed both at African Americans and Jews. Some of you think that the "Zionist Jews running banks and the Federal Reserve need to be run out of the country." These are your words, these are your people. How does it make you feel? Where is the outrage? Is there any outrage?
I will ask you again, what do you want? Can you answer that question in real terms? Can you answer that question without employing ridiculous and meaningless rhetoric? Do you have a plan that strengthens this nation or are you trying to tear it down?

They have no stake in anything. They should be walking around phoneless, i-podless and naked. As you pointed out, corporations make these things. The problem is they don't walk the walk. They bring nothing to the table as they are just takers. I would like to see corporations having pictures taken of these idiots and try to identify them on social media. Then, when these morons try to get a job at the corporations they despise, the corporations will tell them that they will not give them a job because they were part of the occupy wall stree protesters. That would be really cool.And if they were able to have stocks drop in value, what would their union supporters think when they are told that their pensions will suck? Instead of touting this movement as an expression of democracy, we should all be very concerned with its potential to turn very ugly. It already has its moments. We can put this mess directly in the Oval Office. It is despicable that a president could actually encourage these fools, light the flame and then take off for a golf game. OK Pop you ask the question “What do you want?” Let me answer that question for you. They have been taught throughout their entire lives that wealth is evil; it is ill gotten regardless how it was amassed; it belongs to the collective and not the individual; From each according to their ability to each according to their need! That basic understandings of just what type of vermin comprise this mob must be established at the outset before you can answer the question what they want.

That was the spark that ignited this current Flash Mob; Class Warfare. That same philosophy drives these young and not so young Socialist today!

Even though making demands isn't the way to get things done, I had the impression that was how they were trying to tell folks what they want. Impression I got was they were motivated by utopian euphoria, quite possibly in a new form that is not yet illegal. That, and the weather appears to have stayed good. :)

The only thing they want is to "belong to some cause". They could gain as much if not more satifaction demonstrating handy electronic devices. The sham of it all is that the vast majority of these people are simply being used by groups who have ties that lead right back to the President's doorsteps. Once the public grows bored with this exercise in the park in communal living, the stakes will escalate to a level of violence in an attempt to keep media attention and place fear in the hears of the public. It has all been done before and what resulted from it became a miserable failure...I believe they called it the USSR. People left in the dark ages by those who would convince young minds that the necessary things of life are simply free and shared by all. What a crock! Good stuff, Poppy! WB
