Snowballs and the PIP-POP Awards

Good morning breakfastpoppers. Today is Tuesday, October 25, 2011 and it is time for the 54th weekly presentation of the coveted PIP-POP Awards. This morning we will be preparing Snow Balls for breakfast. You will need 1 ounce of simple syrup, 1 egg, 2 ounces of brandy and ginger ale. Pour the brandy, simple syrup and egg into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake like mad and strain into an ice-filled collins glass. Top with ginger ale, put on your finest clothes and head for the theater. The PIP-POPS await our arrival.

Welcome everyone. Let's begin the festivities by asking a representative from the Hyatt Hotel in Sugarland, Texas to join me on the stage. Your hotel suddenly canceled a previously scheduled tea-party event at which author and Atlas Shrugs founder, Pamela Geller, was supposed to speak. Her topic was, 'The Dangers of Islam". CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) applied pressure and your hotel did as they asked. The last time I checked, this was still a free country with free speech. Did you not get the memo? Please accept this POP with our compliments.

Please welcome to the stage another resident from the proud state of Texas who is representing a Texas public high school. Students in a Spanish class were forced to stand up and recite the Mexican National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance as part of an assignment. The students also had to wear red, white and green while performing. The nominating committee thinks that the school went too far in this instance. Here's your POP and on your way back to your seat please send up a student from your school, Brenda Brinsdom, who is here to receive our next award.

Brenda, we have a PIP with your name on it for taking a stand and refusing to participate in this pledge of loyalty to Mexico. You rightly decided that being loyal to Mexico had absolutely nothing to do with learning Spanish.

Our fourth recipient of the morning is Rep. Allen West( R-Fl). Please welcome him to the stage. Sir, your sharp criticism of the Occupy Wall Street protests was refreshing in its honesty. You see danger in Capitol Hill embracing a movement that the American Nazi party and the American Communist party support. Please accept this PIP. We thank you for remembering and embracing the principles that our great nation was built upon.

Our last award of the morning is actually a PIP-POP. Will a representative from ABC please come to the podium? We are awarding your network a PIP for investigating and reporting the story about Fiskar and our government loan so that Leonardo Di Caprio could have a $96,000 car. Sadly, we are also awarding you this POP because you failed to mention that the car company has ties to the Obama campaign. If you are going to break a story, tell the whole story, not just the parts you like.
